Hey Guys and Gals,

I downloaded the demo for the new game Prey the other day and I must say I was quite impressed by it. It runs on a modified Doom 3 engine and introduces some aspects to gaming I thought I'd never see. Without spoiling anything I'll say it follows actual Cherokee Indian mythology and my favorite feature is actually when you die. Instead of the game saying game over or you losing a "life" it puts you into a mini game where you need to shoot certain color wraiths to replenish your energy for when your sent back to your mortal body. Depending on how many yopu hit reflects how much health you have.

So has anyone bought the game or played the demo? What did you think?

I've played the demo and it kicks, MP is trippy...

indeed, i got it today and its quite addictive lol, pretty good storyline and hearing him swear off when crazy things happen is pretty amusing

The language surprised me quite a bit actually....never expected that...have you got to the part where the wraith enters the little girl...if not your going to come to a cell with two kids in it... go to spirit mode and you'll end up seeing th wraith go into the little girl...who in turns murders the little eboy...very gruesome...

ya i have, im pretty far in actually, one area was pretty cool, walked out and a plane was going by, u later come by it crashed into the ground and stuff, u also get attacked by possessed children that blow up when u kill them, pretty annoying :/


im on the "level" called Sacrifices so far, 14 more lvls to go lol

I really need to go buy the game.... the demo barely shows you anything.....

ouch, waiting that long to get somethin must kill, but just to let u know, prey isnt as good as it can be, its pretty fun ya, nice story line etc, just it could have way more potential but what games are made to 100% of their capabilities anyways?

Well if you seen my bills right now you'd understand...I'm getting charged double tax on my house payments....even though I payed them in June they're still double taxing me until August ... and then the wedding and 8 days in Jamaica cost a lot too

From what I played it seems a rather unique experience.... it at least made me jump a few times... where as Doom 3 did not.....

did u try doom 3 on nightmare mode? that one made me jump a few considering things come outa no where and start whaling on you :/

I played it for a total of two hours maybe...... it didn't quite capture the feel of Doom to me.... and where did those portals go?....

The ones in Doom 3 that spat the monsters out....I don't think you ever really went into a hell realm in that game..... did you?

Oh, and I'm definitly getting the game on the 27th....

I'm having a lot of fun with this game, its not the best game ever made, but it sure is fun and very trippy.

So there is a hell realm...oh well.... sold Doom long ago since it doesn't run on the 360 (strangely enough)...

Have you driven any vehicles yet?

ya theres only one type, a flying one, just beated the game to definatly gonna be a second game, tho the ending is quite odd, i dont get how tommy survived or any of it but ya the sphere is destroyed and well, dont restart or shut off the 360 cuz theres more after the credits and ull see what i mean about a second prey then lol

i'm only about half way through, i've only been able to play an hour or so every couple of nights, the weather is to nice during the day, so i'd rather be fishing anyways. but this is a fun game, the story is kind of like a b movie, but its amusing. i love the acid(shotgun) gun, man its more satisfying that the other guns. fun fun game.

ya, i like how all the guns seem sorta alive if u know what i mean, like constantly moving parts, ur lucky u get to enjoy ur days, im stuck working from early morning hours to late afternoon so i only get to play it really before i go, when i get back like iam now im dead tired and just wanna pass out but its to hot

the game is alright it gave me a little vertigo imagine a japanese person playing this.

well i finished it last night, too easy. and the last boss was borning, but leading up to that was great, time to sell it and move on.

I'm thinking of just renting it for the story instead of buying it...too many dang unexpected costs when you buy a house

I actually wanst too impressed by the gameplay in Prey.

The graphics and concept were all pretty good, but it was the basic Doom style "point a to b" shooter. The biggest redeeming feature is the multiplayer because the 1 player was seriously lacking (to me anyway). I also don't like Halo 1 or 2 either... so... *shrug*

I did in fact enjoy hearing Art Bell in the game. That gave me a bit of a laugh.

I know a lot of people who say the same thing.

Halo is a good FPS for multiplayer (be it extremely slow paced), but the single game is almost painful to sit through when you play it. Anytime I played it, it was the multiplayer.... until recently. I actually sat down with them and played the 1 player. After a bit of torture I wanted to play the multiplayer again.

But what does Halo multiplayer need? Bots.

Halo to me personally will always be a sub-par shooter unless they beef up the single player, and try to throw bots into multiplayer. I can think of a LOT of fps games that just crush it in terms of fun factor.

As for Prey, I would put it a notch above Halo.

Halo 2 is definitly got the points invested in MP...I only play the story once... for the story. I like the slower pace most of the time....less seizures . Hopefully three will have more intelligient enemies.....

i liked halo, but it isn't number one, far from it. halo will never be king with fps like half life 2, fear and brothers in arms
