any of you Loch Ness Monster buffs familiar with Frank Searle? he's the man responsible for some amazing photos of Nessie; unfortunately, they're generally regarded as fakes. from what I've read, Searle was an irascible enigma who pulled a number of young female assistants to help him in his "investigations". apparently, his Loch Ness exhibition display only consisted of news-clippings about himself as well as his "photos". he lived on Loch Ness for 14 years and then dissappeared after an incident involving an attempted bombing of a rival monster hunter. Mr. Searle died in 2005, leaving no known survivors. I've found little info on Frank Searle, but he sounds like quite a character, the likes of which is needed today to inject a bit of colour in our f**cked-up world.

He certainly was a colourful character. Sounds like a very proud man. Young female assistants hey, now there's a line I never considered in my youth

"So, what do you do"

"I chase monsters, wanna see my Loch?? " LOL.

As you say, takes all types, some colour is good original.gif Maybe a little tribute is in order. I will look up Searle pics, anyone got any to post now?

Here is an interview thumbsup.gif

Seems he may go down in history as the man who invented cut and paste LOL.

Hmmmmmm......lemme seeeeeeeeee......Pay tribute to a man who used his position to womanize....created a craze about a creature that, TO THIS VERY DAY, nobody has been able to legitimately authenticate....has an exhibition dispay of photos and news clippings ONLY ABOUT HIMSELF.....and then disappeared after an incident involving an attempted BOMBING????!!!!! of a rival monster hunter(that is one of the dumbest phrases I think I have ever had the displeasure to repeat).....and he should be paid tribute to??? sounds like nothing more than a slightly more mentally unstable version of my boss!!!!!

your boss sounds like a party...but Searle didn't start the craze; an argument could go for either St. Columba or Alex Campbell or the Spicers on that one. whether Searle was a decent or good man is beside the point:he just seemed like a guy you could have a few beers with and be entertained by his line of bulls**t. as a courtesy to all, I will include one of Mr. Searles photos.

Man, another classic, what a pair we would make out on the town on a Saturday night laugh.gif

Yeah, heck, why not a tribute, respect for the recently deceased and all that. He sounds like a fun person. Lets put up some fakes and have a good laugh. Sure he would be pleased. From what I have read, I'd have enjoyed a Scotch on the Loch with him. He woud have had quite some tales to tell I would say.

Rival monster hunter LOL, that title kills me laugh.gif

Did any of the photographs he took make 'possible' status, or were hey all confirmed fakes?

I don't know if they were confirmed as fakes; hell, I don't even know who is in charge of such things. I guess if a general consensus deems something to be right or wrong, it must be true, right? look at the "official" 9/11 explanation as an example of "truth". someone years ago claimed that the "Surgeon's Photograph" was a fake head and neck on a toy submarine, but perhaps that was a hoax of a hoax. believe what you want, whatever gets you through the night. for myself, however, I don't think I'll be swimming in any body of water in which strange creatures (real or imagined) are reputed to dwell.

I thought they were all confirmed fakes? Not meaning to offend, I was sure that all had been proven that way.

I don't know that would swim in Loch Ness Nessie or no Nessie. Be pretty darn cold wouldn't it?

My boss??..."a party"???....The Communist party maybe, lol. I guess 1 scotch wouldn't hurt....it's not as if I NEED a reason to hoist a glass...I just know I could find a better reason/person to do so than that clown.
