"On Saturday, the gentleman approached the receptionist of the newspaper, spoke with an employee of administration and left him with three photos and a plain envelope that said “it is not a twisted tree trunk. It is not a wave. Nahuelito has shown his face. Lake Nahuel Huapi, Saturday 15 of April, 9 o’clock. I’m not giving you any personal information in order to avoid future annoyances for myself ".

In the images, at a short distance from the shore of the lake, different views of an animal can be seen, similar to a serpent with a semi-submerged body.

The origin of the legend goes back to indigenous stories before to the conquest.(pre-columbian) The first explorers heard stories from the local Indians about occasional meetings with enormous aquatic monsters.

Yeah, they pics are probably fake, but they are the first lake monster pics I've seen in a while. So, enjoy.

Where is the third picture?

Don't know, couldn't find it.

I sure wish that there would be something in the background to give it some
"scale"....it would also give us a better idea of it's authenticity....I'm not sold on the "good samaritan" just handing the pics over to the local news agency to "let the truth be known".....I ain't buyin' it.
capoeiranger
same here...looks VERY much a HOAX to me...
Great Big Sea
Yeah, I'm not buying that picture either. I've seen some pretty interesting pictures, but this one isn't biting. (sorry for the bad pun) But thanks for sharing! original.gif

Nahuelito...my old friend original.gif

I´been in that lake a couple of times...great place.

I didnt see the monster.

And those pics look so fake...
Mal X
that's a fake!

head and neck/mouth open are exactly the same in both photos, its a model.
the ripples in the water are also way out of scale, that model is approx 4ft long.

Some people just have way too much spare time. yes.gif
rice
the monster is kind of small...well at least compaired to the water waves...and there is a shadow on the first pic...looks like a shadow casting of a boat...should of captured it!
sadistic jellyfish of doom

It just looks like a water snake...A fake water snake.
coldethyl

War-Junkie

psyche101
To me, the mouth looks too big. Looks like a monster with a flip top head original.gif

Also....

in the first pic - anyone agree? - the water looks somewhat blurred around the monster itself, like it has been made to look like splashing, and in the second pic, the water looks rendered. Im gonna have to go with fake here.

Been ages since a pic thumbsup.gif Thanks. Last one was the Champ Eel wasn't it?

What, don't ya all know!? it's the previously thought extinct Bendytoyosaur forapoundus! A very small aquatic reptile that inhabits shallows, pond, puddles and bathtubs. Usually seen more during weekends and during school holidays. Either that or it could be Stickosaurus whittledbybladeus. One or t'other, I'd say.

Something tells me that if they "pulled" the scope of the pic back a little....it would still be in a bathtub.

Or both. But it's so sad that people have so much time and THIS is what they do with it.
