This is what the extinct velociraptor was beieved to look like:

What is the closest living relative to this beast? With most every extinct predator, a relative still exists today...the T-Rex and other dinosaur predators have the Crocodile and the Komodo Dragon.
Anyone think there is any chance of killer wild turkeys? Look at this picture of a wild turkey:

Picture a slightly bigger, slightly more ferocious raptor. I'd be surprised if such an animal did not exist today. I've met many people who've told me of a 6 foot tall wild turkey nearby to where I live. I've been thinking about going to find it. Apparently it will attack humans. It chased one group of people I know one night, they thought it was a ghost as they never saw such a critter before, and it's almost entirely white.

Actually crocodiles came from a different lineage to dinosaurs, and it lived along side them, the Komodo dragon evolved a lot more recently.
As for the 6ft turkey, I wouldn't count on finding one.

Well, it is interesting to see some of the most ferocious animals to ever walk have ended up becoming our dinner quite often. I mean it wouldnt be impossible for a turkey to evolve from a Raptor would it?

Ah, six foot killer wild turkeys? Are there poultry farms near where you live? Because wild turkeys usually aren't white. And definately not that tall.

About the "Raptor McNuggets" (lol) it is funny when we eat predators so high on the food chain such as squid and crocodile...proves we really are #1 on the Earth food chain. No doubt about it.
And about the speculation of the existence of this creature: as I said, I've only HEARD of it, never seen it. Having said that, I've heard it a couple times from unrelated people. Could be nothing more than a big exaggeration, but I'll look into it. If I get some pictures I'll be sure to post them.
For those of you nearby (East Coast Canada) my wife just may be cooking up a big turkey dinner soon. All "cryptozoologists" welcome!

Both crocs and dinosaurs were archosaurs...Lizards are more distant to dinosaurs than crocs.

Turkeys now have the remnant of the killerclaw...its shrunken greatly.

food chain such as squid
The squid that calamari is made from is actually very low on the food chain...They are one of the most common forage for fish...

Laugh at first reading this thread, but well got to say as for a six foot turkey would be good to find one, but as for finding it not too likely....
And well killer turkeys well it would be a change if we heard of them eating us for christmas day lunch....

no joke one time when i wasl iek 6 a was walking along the water line at a lake by my house and thre was a baby goose an i was like aww and all of a sudden the mother came flying like towards my hea and i had a rock in my hand cause i was skipping stone and i wailed the mother and she dropped she got up and thne like bulted into the water with her babies i fel bad but seriosuly geese are alot scarier then a turkey and crocodilians and dinosaurs are very distinct a dinosaur is closer to a bird then a crocodile in the snce that many had feathers it is possible they had air sacs like birds bone analysis shows they may have even been warm blooded and as for the konodo dragon there very recent in terms of evolution and just because its big reptile doesnt mean its a dino relative most monitor lizards are rather small and are not part of any direct linage to dinos

Feathers.
Anyway, I don't know if the croc or the komodo dragon are directly related to the late great T-Rex (or if the wild turkey is related to the velociraptor) but they're similar predator - big lizard with viscious bite. Are viscious non-flying raptors gone altogether? Or is there something...perhaps the wild turkey (in extreme cases) can resemble the top predator velociraptor.

There seems to be some confusion on the phylogenic tree here...
Here's my feeble attempt to draw one

Turkeys are not vicious at all...They are decendants of dinosaurs, but don't act like raptors at all...
EDIT: Sorry, image is too small...

Well, get a Velociraptor, shrink it, cut its tail down, give it a beak and cover it in feathers and you've got a creature not unlike a game-bird of some sort.

Turkeys have been proven to be the most stupid intelligent creatures on Earth! They don't shelter when it rains and freeze to death and have been scared to death by paper blowing in the wind! THEY ARE THE MOST STUPID CREATURES ON EARTH!!!

I remember watching a TV show a couple years back, about what would happen if there was an Ice Age which left all animas except Humans alive. And if I remember, the turkeys evolved into big fat ruthless raptor like predators. Convinenent?
