Hey,

Thanks Lionel & benjo for asking about Siquijor....

There are two reasons why you should visit Siquijor,
First, it has one of the Best Diving place here in our country.

Boracay island is now expensive for tourist, and so another alternative tourist destination you can try is Siquijor Island.

Secondly, it is really an island of witchcraft and sorcery.
Where many local/native shaman, witch & sorcerer exist and peddle their arts for the right price, and will use witchcraft and sorcery on anyone.

Basically these are two types of Spells & Hexes they perdorm. One is called "Kulam"...Kulam is more subtle, and harmless...Kulam is where potions are made...Love Potion and many others.

And the other one which is dreadful and harmful is what we called as "Barang". Barang is actually a Visayan term, and is similar to Santeria.
In Barang, I have seen it personally, a helpless victim who is suffering from pain and fever. When a local shaman healed him, an 8 inch long knife was inside his stomach. The knife, called "balisong" entered his stomach without any clue.
Some of the dreadful Barang I have seen a few years ago, was a man who was vomiting cockroach. His thin body frame suffered pain and stomach became BIG. before he was healed by the local shaman, we saw his stomach being infested by thousands of cockroaches.

Aside from cockroaches, they also used centipedes, ants, frogs, nails, and even "metal pins".

Hey,

The best time to visit Siquijor is during Summer season, between Apirl to May.

But it is always the best to come to Siquijor when its our Holy Week.

Because, it is during this time when you can see local shamans, witch, and sorcerer display their Magickal arts.

Such as making the leaves dance, and other stuff.

The witch and sorceror are also classified into Black & White practitioners. They also have heirarchy too.

Lastly, Siquijor is predominantly a Black magick island.
