Croc slams into tree after scaring campers


Sydney - A camping holiday was made memorable for an Australian family when a three-metre crocodile tried to get into their tent in the dead of night.

Noel Bleakley told Australia's ABC Radio Friday that the intrusion earlier this week in the Northern Territory's Kakadu National Park had been a shock for the croc as well.

When the family started screaming, "it frightened the poor crocodile nearly to death, and he spun around and headed straight back to the river bank."

The crocodile slammed into a tree before it reached the water.

"He knocked all the bark of the paperbark tree right down to the solid timber underneath, and there were two big wet circles where his nose had slammed into the tree," Bleakey said. -

I'm feeling sorry for the croc.

I'm glad no one was hurt, including the croc.

I wouldn't mind if the family was hurt or killed, but I'd get sad if something bad happened to the crocs. Crocs have feelings like us!

I bet it will be a while before that croc sticks it nose where it shouldn't.....

or a while before the family starts camping in croc territory.

You think so?? I wouldnt have said so. Actually the family is very lucky that the croc took off after they raised Cain like they did.

Normally a croc about that size would scamper off if you scared it on land...Not in water though...

I always sneeze after a bang on the nose.....

Anyways..... Everyone is forgetting the community that are living on and in the tree.
With the bark gone, the tree is open to disease resulting in death....

Maybe it'll try to find its own dinner next time, instead of stealing someone else's.

This is why you carry a pistol when camping.

I had a pet chimp called Warrior, but he died last year by a brain disease. I really miss him.

I'll never understand that. I wouldn't even take a stroll down near a pond if there were a chance of a man-eater around. When I hear stories of people being devoured in Florida while powerwalking near a drainage ditch, my reaction is usually: 'Dumbass.'

Who in their right mind camps right near the water where their are large crocs...expecially in Australia?

Yeah see thats what I thought with the people in costume. But ive seen a croc run and they can be pretty clumsy

Well..... Actually it was the Pamela Anderson look-a-like I picked up.... My mates kept trying to tell me she was a big teethed monster .

If there was a moth in the tent then that is what scared her....
