im surprised there hasnt been more people who've seen the movie

I saw it, and enjoyed it. It is a typical Shamalayan movie; not a horror, possibly a thriller, more a twilight zonish type of thing, where totally believable characters are placed in a somewhat unbelieavable situation.

I thought The Village was okay but not his usual fare, it was a bit predictable. Signs was my fave by far!
amybutts
I loooved Signs. I am not usually a big Joaquin Phoenix fan, but OMG... he was good in that movie...

Hopefully next weekend I will get out to see Lady in the Water, I've been waiting for it to come out.

Okay, off topic, but... another good one was The Other's with Nicole Kidman. It kinda reminded me of an M. Night film.

Lady in the Water is supposed to be terrible ,according to the critics. I do not plan on seeing it.

That's because he portrays movie critics to be insipid little twerps!
Finally got to see "Lady in the Water" last night and it was excellent. Not typical M. Night, more of an exercise in creating a modern myth than some long philosophical piece with a twist, but still one of the three best movies I have seen this year. Right up there with "Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest" and "The Libertine".

Of course on our way home from the theater, the wife and I stopped and picked up a batch of next week's new DVD releases and I watched the only one I was interested in:
"V for Vendetta".
D for Dull. Typical dystopian setting, stock characters, zero action and Poli. Sci. and Psych. 101 dialogue. I honestly expected something a little deeper, with more action (the epic battles my 4 cats have are more interesting), and less preaching of basic concepts. Basically, all the worst parts of the Matrix trilogy in 2 hours and 13 minutes. sleepy.gif

Guess you could say I balanced out last night.

I havent' seen this one, but I'll wait till it's out on video(or if I'm really bored and their nothing else showing). I think The Village was boring...the best part was the ending and only the ending. It would have made an OK Outer Limits/Twilight Zone episode, not at feature length motion picture.

Speaking of the twilight zone isnt there a movie coming of that or was it my imagination

yea the reason why the cirtics hate the movie, is because there is a character who is a critic in it, and hes portrayed to be an ass, just like said above me...besides, we all know, whenacritic doesnt like a movie...that means everyone should go see it, critics have the worst taste
The Skeptic Eric Raven
I loved it. I hated his last one The Village.

I haven't seen it yet. I've seen all of Shyamalan's movies thus far and I loved them all. I doubt this one will be any different
Super Pancake
Is it good really cause the only movie of his I liked was Unbreakable.

Sixth Sence was alright. The village was just a bad movie, and Signs well why is it aliens who somehow have all these great technology one weakness on a planet which suface is covered in 90+ % water populated with creatures made of 97% water just happen to be water.
LucidElement
i saw Lady In The Water.. and trust me "Stay out of the Water." Not worth it =).
Pappzy
I liked the village(well, apart from the end bit). But one movie i won't be seeing is that 'ant bully'.It looks rubbish(rember this is a family forum). angry.gif

M. Night had a role in all of his movies except Wide Awake
In Praying with Anger he was the main character
In The Sixth Sense he was the doctor
In Unbreakable he was the guy Bruce Willis stopped in the croud and suspected of dealing drugs
In Signs he was the guy in the car that said he caught an alien in his pantry
In The Village he was the guard that the first person Ivy talked to outside of the fence talked to inside that building that "that guy" got medicine for ivy....M. Night was reading a paper
