It was there again last night.

In research for my original post came across the topic of Ethereal Music or Sounds. Does anyone else hear ethereal sounds or music? I have heard it for years late at night but did not notice it or it's ethereal quality until the evening of 9/11/01.

So I was lying in bed worrying about what was going to happen next about 1:30 am on the evening of 9/11/01 and dang, there was that sound again! Only this time it was louder. That was when it struck me, it sounded..........ethereal...........almost like angels singing or calling. It is a beautiful sound very far off in the distance. It sounds like a suspended note, not mechanical, not animal. The best I can describe it is as rubbing a finger along the rim of a half full wine glass, a suspended high pitch note which continues on and on. It is quite beautiful sounding and cannot be heard all the time. Since 9/11/01 I listen for it regularly and it can only be heard very late at night when the windows are open.I have heard it in the Spring, Summer and Fall but not all the time. Even last night the sound would go on for several minutes and subside and not be heard again.

It is not an animal sound although it could be a voice on suspended note. It is not mechanical, not air condiditoning or any other mechanical sound. Tranquil and quite as can be out there late at night. I thought it could be road traffic off in a distance but it is not as I cannot hear this during the day when I listen. I thought it could be radar as there is an air base about 10 miles away but radar does not make a sound. This cannot be radar. And it isn't a train either as I do hear a train off in the distance late at night and this sound is very unlike a train sound.And it isn't a plane either, not at all.

The sound is really quite beautiful and not threatening at all. I have a problem where sometimes will wake up in the middle of the night and not be able to fall back to sleep for a while and in the Summer have taken to sitting by the window just enjoying the ethereal sound and watching the moonlit shadows outside. It is really quite pleasant and have seen foxes, opposums, bunnies and skunks. On occasion I hear an owl or mockingbird sing, but this sound is not like any of these. Just a clear suspended higher pitch note off in the distance............like a choir or angel calling. And it is not tinitus or ringing in the ear. I know what tinitus or ringing in the ear is,and have that also but this is louder and not at all the same. And it is definitely not any insect or insects!

So, this is my ethereal sounds or music post and I hope to not bore you with it. Does any else hear such sounds late at night? Listen carefully and quietly when the window is open in the summertime and maybe you too will hear this beautiful sound.

Maybe its because you are starting to fall asleep and you kind of start dreaming about these sounds?

Right, while I was sitting by the window watching the fox, skunk and deer.

I did (intermittently) when I was a kid. From about age 8-13. What I would hear was more like a piano....sort of a 40-s style piece or maybe similar to classical (?)....I dont know much about music. But it seems that it was always summer, or early fall when it happened. Always in the middle of the night. When I was younger it didnt scare me so much. As I got older, I became afraid and would wake up my parents. They were completely baffled and did not seem to hear it....they would run around unplugging radios, etc. to make sure there was no music playing anywhere. After I was grown, my dad admitted to me that one night he did hear it (not a night that I had woken them). After these occurences started to really scare me, they just stopped.

backhandgrip, do other people hear it too, or it's just you? have you asked someone in the same house if they heard it? And do you hear it in the same house, same place, or do you hear it wherever you travel?

Everyone else is sleeping. Have always had rather acute hearing and smelling senses. Always the first to smell gas and can hear the tv and radio well when others need to turn up the volume.

If a person hears voices others do not hear they say that person may be crazy. Does the same stand true for sounds?
I think not.
I also want to add that hearing a beautiful sound, or seeing a beautiful vision (I would think), is not a threatening experience. If indeed it is a religious experience then it may only be seen or heard by the person experiencing the event. It's interpretation is a matter of faith. Faith is a wonderful thing.

Right I have to ask this, try and find out about the Aurora Borealis or Northern Lights. I have seen them a few times and HEARD them. It's a known thing that they can sometimes emit tones and strange noises at times! It's just a suggestion to consider, I think there's a website that shows where and when they are active around the world which i'll have a look for.

From my childhood upto my mid twenties I would hear ?music?/?singing? just as I was waking. Sometimes I couldn't tell if it was me or not. It would sound sometimes like singing, sometimes like orchestral music. Once in a while I would hear sounds totaly different like talking or mumbleing and I would think someone is watching the tv or radio but as I would get up to walk around to find where its coming from it would gradually fade. I figured after awhile it was me, just one of those Unexplaind Mysteries. One day on the news a man mentioned the same thing. A reporter was interviewing people about the a noise that only a few people could here, i can't remember what state, something about an underground a hum,a nyways, they cut away from because thay thought he was crazy, he mentioned hearing angels singing and that he had spoken to other people who had
heard something upon waking as well; singing, choral type music ecetera. he went on for a bit, what he described sounded so much like me. It was somthing to hear and on the tv no less. Well its nice to know I'm not alone. Its been a couple af years since I've heard anything I kinda miss the beautiful music, I always thought of it as a morning greeting.
ps I've heard, twice, a trumpet. the first time my mother heard it as well we both just looked up at the sound. I asked her if she heard what I did. My mother just smiled at me. I heard it again a few years later. I was at the door just looking out and then the same sound from up above.

I have experienced music and chatter only very briefly and very lightly while awake a few times but one time when I was alseep I woke up thinking I could hear this nice music that I had downloaded from someone. It was only music that was on my PC and it wasnt radio music so I actually went to stand up to go and turn it off. I could really hear it and I was spinning out that my son had figured how to turn it all on.. I couldnt understand who had turned it on basically but I was happy and I had just figured it was somehow him. Anyway I began to stand up and then the music stopped and I realise that I had just been dreaming and I was really kinda amazed because I dont get tricked often like that and I dont get to the stage of actually standing up before waking up you know.

So I went back to sleep and I was almost dreaming again as my head was hitting the pillow. It felt like my head was being rested down in the hands of someone who loved me and I could see shining golden faces which were three but One. So like a three sided golden face which was female who I didnt recognise but knew who loved me. She kinda rested me back to sleep as I layed down and I knew that the music was from her and I was very happy. It was a really cool quick trippy dream.

Anyway my mum called me early that morning to tell me that my Nana had died that same morning(around the same time). And I was not sad at all hey.

The strange thing is is that after I told my mum about this dream, a few weeks later she gave me a letter that my Nana had written ages ago when her husband died.. It basically said that she woke up to hear this most wonderful music playing and that she got up and opened all the windows to hear it more. She said she didnt know where it was coming from and that it was really strange because later no-one else heard it.. She said she listened for ages and that the same morning her husband had died in hospital. She said it made her feel very happy because she felt it was from him.

I had never read that letter before because it was just some old one my mum had but when I told her I had heard the music etc she remembed the letter which spun me out when I read it.

No it's not tinnitus. I know what that is and have that but the sound I hear is not that at all.

OK -- there's 12 points along the outside of your body. Those points coincide with the 12 notes of the music scale.

In western music it's 12 notes made from "the cycle of fifths" but in nonwestern music the Law of Pythagoras demonstrates that the cycle of fifths is really the infinite spiral of fifths.

The fifth is the interval C to G as the ratio 2:3 and is YANG.

The interval G to C is the ratio 3:4 is YIN.

So by cycling the 12 points along the outside of your body you resonate your hormones or electrochemical emotions into electromagnetic fields which then turn into the rainbow of light.

The endocrine glands get real hot and you activate the inner ear because it's a Golden Ratio spiral (like a Conch shell).

The inner ear then opens up the pineal gland which makes melatonin (the most powerful anti-oxidant in the body) which then turns into DMT -- the spirit molecule.
