Drug abuse/addiction is a big problem all over the world. How do we stop it.
Why do people start doing drugs in the first place. I think it's low self-esteem. People feel like they have been treated unfairly. And is many cases, they have been treated unfairly. People feel that have not been treated with respect. And in many cases, that is true.
So maybe if everyone from birth to age 20 was treated with respect and fairness at all times,we could stop drug abuse/addiction and end up with a utopian society.

I'm treated perfectly by my parents and most others, and I do drugs. I don't steal, haven't raped or beaten anyone, nor do I do bad in school.
Respect has little or nothing to do with why people choose to use drugs.

depends on what kind of drugs. Pot/weed isn't a bad drug, healthier than smoking tobacco. but solvent abuse perhaps is, I mean I don't mind the odd magic marker smelling, but aerosol abuse is low self esteem. it has to be, one try of that can kill you instantly - freezes your throat and wind pipes.
cocaine is also pretty bad, snorting it can dissolve your nose bridge. and injecting... well theres so many scenarios for that, HIV, tetanus ect.

I think that's a big problem.....not the drug use, but the kind of drug, and how society responds to you being a user.
Alot of times, people automatically equate drug use to drug abuse, which isn't the case by any means.

Humans always have and always will use drugs for as long as we are in existance. The illusion of a drug-free society was created by the U.S. to fight a never ending war, the war on drugs. Kind of sounds like the war on terrorism, doesn't it? I'm not saying we should live in a nation where you can do any drug you would and that our government should give up this "war on drugs" but they aren't taking the right steps to bring down drug-abuse. Their intentions aren't true and are focused in the wrong areas. It's painfully obvious.

I'll tell you how we end drug abuse; By killing the guys who steal, lie and cheat for a fix, and legalising it for those who don't.
Over-zealous or a fast, cheap solution? You tell me.

I agree with heroin, X, coke, etc. are bad but I dont think they can be stopped. I wish they could.
Marijuana on the other hand, is relatively harmless and not addicting. Marijuana helps people in so many ways.

We will probably never stop drug abuse, the same as we will never stop prositution, murder, robbery, etc, etc. They have been with the human race for so long because there are people willing to do such things. They are as much part of our society as paying tax, religion and war. They always have and always will be with us.

Why would we want to stop it is the real question? Our Prison Industrial Complex would dry up over night. Population of lowend, nonskilled, uneducated urban rats would flourish. I say let these idiots kill themselves off. If a person is so weak that they have to resort to drugs that will eventually kill them, well that's natural selection at work in my opinion.

i dont think drugs canbe stopped from happening, because the addicts will addict others, so if there is one left they will change more people into addicts
