Software developer CuriousFactory and Japanese creator circle Buredo have partnered to create and release of "Blade Engine," a free program designed for creating English language visual novel computer games. Japanese visual novel games may be described as complex, story and character driven interactive illustrated novels. The Blade Engine homepage offers free downloads of the Blade Engine program, along with sample visual novel games created with the Blade Engine software.

Does this work well, Talon? Have you tried it out?

I've tried it. Its actually very easy to work with. So in true shoujo-ai fan fashion I made a Konoka/Setsuna story which lasted a dozen scenes for a test run.
Seriously, the hardest part of this program seems to be finding images to put in it (although I have so many anime images on my comp... it wasn't actually that hard in this case wacko.gif )

If you had a lot of free time, imagination, and could find enough pictures on google to tell your story, you could actually make a good few text-games or Visual-novels.

See if you had a web-comic, this could add a whole new life to it.
