Hi I've heard that having red hair and a birthmark in an intimate area signifies something and I was just wondering if anyone knew what it meant or if its true ect.. If so let me know i'd appericate it.

In the 17th century, it was a superstitious belief that any woman with red hair was a witch. Also, many red-haired people tend to have freckles, so freckles became known as "witch marks." Eventually, moles, warts, birthmarks, pimples, pockmarks, cysts, liver spots, wens, or any other blemish were called witch marks as well.

What you described may have some significance to practitioners of wicca, but since I'm not too familiar with this pagan belief, perhaps someone here who is can answer your question.

Having red hair means you will ne ridiculed at school, and for the rest of your life, i'm not ginger, but i know alot of those that are, and they had hell thru school and work, dunno what makes a ginger so unique to name calling and pranks....i have the upmost contempt for bullys.

i have never seen a true red head. we dont have many where i come from.
any way i will take a guess. it was believed in the whole witch-burning period that witches had sex with the devil, and maybe that is where de red hair/genital mark legend came from, since satan is often thought of as red and firey and would burn your genitals/hair red, although i always thought of him as black.

I am also a red head & was not teased at school. I actually find a lot of men like red heads.

I suppose men are attracted to redheads because of the unusual hair color. In a world so full of brunettes, redheads and blondes stands out.

i am from deep in de swamps of louisiana, where people barely speak english, have "I love my mud boots" bumper stickers, think bar-b-q is only a butter, vinegar, and roux sauce, and de people enjoy setting dier moufs on fire wit food dat would make most Yankees and some rednecks trow demselves in real fire to ease de pain! aint it great to be a cajun!

Women with red hair are extremely hot. I always loved dating redheads, but never intended to marry one. The temper, you know. I married a brunette.

Just to stay on topic i love red heads as well however i have heard the stories from my girlfreind (who is a witch) about the red hair and red birthmark being some kind of powerful witch or something to the effect but the weird thing is she has both red hair and a red birth mark.

My hair is blood red ( not as light as usual ) and I have a strange circle birthmark perfectly placed on the middle of the back of my neck .

Any way I have blonde hair that changes shades daily somdays its really light nearly white while the next it will be a goldne brown with black streaks,Yes it is cleaned daily and No I don't dye my hair although I will do soon, a nice white colour. Also I have on the side of my neck a wierd Birth mark, it comprises of 3 raised marks (not spots or moles) but strange discoloured skin that seem to make the points of a triangle, I think its cool and maybe someone should do a thread on wierd birth marks of power or somthing.

ya know, i dont think red heads are as uncommon as thought. i mean look at all the people on this forum alone who have said they themselves have red hair or they know someone who does. theres plenty here in ireland anyways...

I knew a few red heads! in school and at a work. some are stereotyped as being "aggressive" and "hyper" and when stressed out they say weird things like "burn it!!!!!!" some red heads will do crazy things. Oh well that is why life is soooo colorful . so that might answer for the bullyings and beatings. I have this former co-worker who just bullied this redhead at work, this co-worker called this red-head, "a red haired baztarded child". this has an old meaning: "a unwanted slave child".

however, i have only met a few red heads who acted normal but have a little devil inside...hehehe.

My hair is auburn (not bright red, sort of browny red) but the older I get the redder my hair gets, I think by the time I am 60, I will be a propper copper top.

I also have a birthmark, but not in a 'private' place it is on my right foot.

its onteresting red hair fact time, its the most difficult colour to colour over or bleach out, and when you dye hair, red is the quickest to fade, but the most difficult to get rid of!

I remember reading somewhere that redheads made up 14% of the US population. That means more than one person out of 10!!!

I guess it depends on which part of the country.
