I am very intrigued to know why you want UFOs, intelligent life to be found.

I have tried my best to cover all possible opinions from believers to non-believers to researchers to other.

Kind regards

I'm not really that fussed if life exists or not - I'd just like to know more about what is out there

Exchange of knowledge/experience. I'm of the belief capability comes from knowing how to, not through physical notions.

I voted ‘other’ I’m just following the evidence and that's it. Personal desire doesn't come into it. Believe it or not.

I said would prove beyond doubt that life is out there, would love to get to a point where we interact with other ife forms in a peaceful way, sharing benefits for the universe as a whole.

I voted other because to be honest i'm not really sure. It's just something in me that drives me on for answers....Stronger than curiosity...more like an instinct.....
Isn't this why we are an exploring species though ...we always want to know more about new undiscovered territory.

If we can find life, lets say,on another planet or moon in our own starsystem,or if SETI strikes oil, this would mean that life on Earth is not just a one lucky freakshot in the dark.

To me It would mean if it can happen here it can happen anywhere. I just love the thought of future intergalactic neighbors. Just wish I was here to see the day they put that contact date in our schoolbooks.

I voted the trading of technology and stuff. I'm pretty much a non-believer, but what I wish for is that the aliens would give us some help with space travel and I'd get to visit other planets in my lifetime. And appear in blurry photos all over the galaxy. devil.gif

I would certainly love to go into space...... It is only 5 years ago I could never imagine leaving Earth, but for a hefty sum (£20k I think) you can get into orbit....
Costs will reduce (assuming no incidences) and it will be more and more feasible original.gif

If ET does exist, and he (or she) can truly travel here from a distant system, I would definitely like to trade technologies with them. If I could vote twice, I think the question on the poll about giving humanity hope for the future goes hand in hand with this answer.

i voted hope for the future for us because while war is on earth...we could be chillin somewhere else with our buddy ET grin2.gif

Unless the technology involves future weapons and Iran/ Israel.....

I picked #1,

Though we might never get to say hello in person I would find some sort of perverse satisfaction in knowing that we are not the only living thing in this entire universe, how creepy would that be, a totally dead universe and us.

There may be lots of life in the universe. If so, I think its a safe bet that most of it will score lower on the SATs than you and me.

I voted other.

Great. They are already plotting the UTO to replace the WTO before they have even made contact. The idea of slave planets to me is just not appealing.

I've wondered a few times...if I had indisputable proof of the existence of aliens...would I bring it out in the open? My initial thought is "H#LL YA!"

But when you think about what it could do to the people of the world - to religion - to the societal structure we now have - I dunno.

Think about it. Say you're a workin dude and you work for a rich guy with a gorgeous wife. You live paycheck to paycheck and barely get by. Still, you have the promise of pie in the sky when you die to fall back on. Plus you can't go doing bad stuff or you'll burn for eternity in H#ll.

Then along comes a guy with indisputable proof of alien life and basically demonstrates that religion is a myth - no pie in the sky - no H#ll to fear. So why keep workin for the man? Whack the man and take his girl. Get all you can while you can.

I would think this logic is part of why the "haves" would do anything to keep that sort of information away from the "have nots".

Therefore - I'm not sure i would reveal the proof of the existence of aliens just for fear of the havoc it could cause in society.

Is fear of hell really the only thing keeping Christians from killing people? Religion is not unchanging, incapable of adapting to changes in society. When problems arise they'll just reinterpret the holy texts - they are supposed to be symbolic, after all.
