I thought I remember years back that there was going to be an episode of sesame street where Burt and Ernie were to announced gay. Does anyone else remember this or is it just a weird dream I had?
Daniella2310

I'd say that was a dream.
The only "weird" thing that has happened to the Muppets' cast has been the addition of that puppet who has aids, i don't remember her name.

Also someone made a picture of the Sesame Street muppets as gangsters.

Bert was supposed to come out of the closet, but they never got to that point because the person who did Bert's character was gay and died of AIDS, so they never got that far. Instead, Bert died.

I hope Bert and Ernie never come out.

I thought Grover was gay too, so sexually frustrated by a gay-hating society the blue balls spread to the rest of his body, and that Big Bird and the giant Furry Elephant had some kind of weird bird-extinct elephant interspecies thing going on.
I was the only kid in my kindergarten class that hated Sesame Street.
Always wanted watch Sportscenter instead.

Anyone remember Family Guy's parody? Bert gets out of bed, he's nude, and he starts getting dressed while yelling about something. Ernie pulls the blankets up to his chin, and says, "Bert, please stop yelling." I about laughed up my chocolate milk.

Oh my!!! What's next? Is tellatubbies, spongebob+patrick, barney gay?? Oh wait, they already have.

I guess my daughter will stick to wathing Dora + Boots. It's only a matter of time.

Its sick of how people use kids shows to bring up such a adult issue. I think kids my daughters age watching Ses. St. wouldn't know what being gay long enough aids meant and if I discussed it with her when she watched, at that age she's be going 'ewww' and frightened from the AIDS issue.

Barring the religious "It's evil!" way of thinking, I don't really get what's so horrendous about explaining to your children what "gay" is.
My son first heard the word on the radio when he was about 6. It's not that hard to explain. "Sometimes boys fall in love with boys and girls fall in love with girls instead of them falling in love with eachother."
