the word psychic means anything influenced, relating, or effecting the psyche. it also means some one with extrodanary mental processes. the word psychic does not mean you can read minds at will or know everything. it is just a term that mean your peyche can influence something. take for example i think of itching and i start to itch that was caised by my psyche so that is a psychic ability. some people think psychic can do anything just cause their psychic by definition an idiot sevat is psychic. lets say someone told you they got a computer and you don't have internet so you assume your friend has internet so you ask if you can use it but you only have offline capabilities. im saying don't assume that these people can do stuff they didn't even tell you about. i'm not telling you to belive them that is your choice but don't acuse them about more stuff then they left them selves open for or even don't have just to make you point valid in your eyes.
Kazuma
A dictionary definition is not always used in conversation when I word is spoken/typed. The idea of "psychic" is doing weird paranormal stuff - even though it is, technically, wrong.

Sorry. grin2.gif

Playing with definitions proves nothing in either direction. Most everyone who comes here knows full well what kind of "psychic" powers were talking about.
Kazuma
grin2.gif Exactly.

I agree with the last 2 that posted ^^^^^^^.
It still doesn't make any valid sense to me tho.
And Kazuma, when are you gonna share your theory about alters?

A entire paragraph of "I have nothing to say really"...

Please refrain from over dramatic titles if you are just going to recycle what had already been presented here.

I wish someone had stopped you before you wasted your valuable time on this paragraph. Only joking, but your definition needs some research.

My understanding is that psychic means other factors affect your psyche, not the other way round. wink2.gif

No, it's called (auto) suggestion. You implant a suggestive thought which your mind immediately takes on. It is most definitely not a psychic manouvre.
mind
I understand the psychic word as the ability of people to sense beyond the regular 5 senses. Be it visual information or tactile sensing over distance.

For example of tactile sensing, see:
Personal experience with feeling energy with hands

For me, psychic is someone having ESP abilities.
phenomenon
Exactly.

A good example would be reading someone's mind (not that it can be done). You do not affect anything, you tune in and receive the thoughts, therefore their thoughts are affecting your psyche, not the other way round.

But like I said, it's impossible. thumbsup.gif

"Nothing is impossible, only improbable."

I want to know what that whole computer-internet thing had to do with the post.

Ok as the phrase in Bold points out you have taken the issue you seem to think is the answer in relation to PSI out of context and as is obvious, the term supernatural seems to be the point. Tell you what present a post that states "never mind" and all is forgiven

Any thoughts?
