I hate to really talk about this, but the other night I was asleep in my bed, and i heard something outside my door. I swear, it sounded like keys rattling... but anyway the door is right next to me and i remember vividly the door nob moving but nothing happened. Then i looked up and i saw 2 Red dots spaced perfectly apart and it literally looked like 2 red eyes. Well, then i heard a laugh and my stomach literally turned in on itself.

If you were asleep maybe you were dreaming?

Yeah, it sounds like you were in that area of unconsciousness just inbetween being awake and asleep. I have also heard and seen things while in that state....it's nothing to be concerned about.

Did you see the door knob jiggle, then the "red-eyes"? or did the eyes just appear out of thin-air?

Ok the Nob jiggled.. I took my hand to hold the nob, but at that moment and I dont know why, but i looked at the wall next to me and I saw 2 red dots moving.. It was weird dude, i swear it was like something had entered me.

Do you own a CD player or a system of some sort? Maybe the little red lights were reflecting onto the wall...just a theory....how long had you been in bed?

Nah i dont have a CD player in my room its downstairs.. been there for about a year now. But, i had just gotten into bed when this happened i had closed my eyes for about 5 minutes when the door nob jiggled

You said you heard a laugh? Did you ever open the door to see if someone was really outside your door?

I was the only 1 home.. lol my parents and my brother went out of town for a family reunion i had to work, but after i heard the laugh the red dots moved toward me like they literally came off the wall

Were you moving as you saw these things, or were you lying still?

You say you made a noise. Did you still see these things after you made the noise?

These are important questions.

Laying still on my pillow when i heard the keys rattling. No i didnt make a noise i heard the keys rattling outside my door and then i Heard the door nob rattle. When I grabbed hold of it I looked at the wall and 2 red dots spaced apart and literally looked like eyes move and i heard a laugh then it moved off the wall and when they came toward me my stomach started turning real fast and it hurt so bad.. in fact i still had my hand on the door when my stomach started turning..

You know how your stomach feels when you go up a hill then down 1 real quick? That's how it felt.

OK, you moved during the experience and continued to see and feel and hear all this. That rules out hypnopompic hallucination ("sleep paralysis"). This is an odd and unsettling experience you had, but others have had it also. It impresses me that so many sensations were involved. It tends to rule out a single normal explanation, like a reflection from car lights or something.

I am kind of fumbling around in the dark here myself, but some questions might help:

Have you had hard-to-explain experiences before?

Has anyone else in the house had unexplained experiences?

Please forgive me for asking but I have to: Were you on any medication, drugs, or alcohol at the time?

Is anything stressful going on in the house? (If yes, I'm not asking for private details.)

Is there anything particularly negative about the neighborhood or town? I'm thinking of things like prisons, factory closings, anything involving a large amount of negative emotion.

And lastly, did the thing you saw strike you as something in particular? I mean, do you have a name for it or any opinion about it?

Very interesting experience.

No drugs, New House, No Prision, Nice upscale neighborhood, but to tell you the truth I haven't been to church in 10 years. and To tell you the truth when i saw the red eyes, i thought Satan himself was in the room, I mean i dont want to jump to anything but the laugh I heard was high and with no empathy or feeling.

Well, there are lucid, rational people in the world who swear they've come face to face with Satan.

I've asked and read around about "shadow people," the description of which sounds something like what you saw. The story going around is that these are the rats of the spirit world, scavengers that feed on negative emotions. Not intelligent, really, but I've read stories where they're capable of physically attacking. They needn't be attached to a particular house and are often described as just sort of passing through. Foraging, I guess.

That's a hypothesis about what they are. I don't know. I am close to at least one person who has seen one, and so I don't seriously doubt they are real.

A step up from these things, says the current folklore, are demons. They are said to feed in somewhat the same way but are said to be self-aware, with names and memories and identities. From the Christian viewpoint, as I understand it, they're fallen angels who've sided with Satan. As such, they'd like to pull down all of Creation. People suffering is their idea of fun.

The stomach-turning fear that went through you is commonly reported. It's consistent with the idea that these things somehow get a charge out of scaring you.

Again, this is the folklore I've heard, and I don't have a shred of solid evidence for it. Does any of it fit your experience? Can you expand on what happened to you, or was that all there was to say about it?

BTW, I don't think these things, if they're real, wander into your life because you haven't been to church lately. From what I hear, sometimes they're just around.

well Nick.....whatever happened to you that night .....now is gone.So i guess you'll find out soon enough if you were visited by some sort of demonic force or not.Anyway i just can't seem to understand what's it all about,i mean they turn your knob couple of times,do some laughter and thats it......what is the purpose of that ? I guess if that demonic force wanted to hurt you,it will hurt you.....and not just scarin' the sh*t out of you !

Anyways it happened again last night, but this time my hat flew off the wall.

Okey doke. I'm wondering if you'd describe what happened this time in the same detail as you did the first episode, step by step, what you saw and heard and felt, what time it was, all that.

I'm also wondering if my longish post above seems to fit with your experience at all, or not.

Remember, these things supposedly love it when you're scared. That's what they do to you because that's what they feed off of, or so goes the folklore. So if you can try not to be scared, it'll move on, probably.

Not to cause a problem with your parents, but can you have someone sleep over with you tonight? I would, jeez after seeing that, maybe a few buddies! This could give you a break from the stress.

Well last night, i went to sleep around mid-night. My hats are on the wall next to me hanging on pegs. Well, this has never happened until last night when i discovered 1 hat on the computer desk, another hat on the ground, and another hat, lol on my head. But i am the only 1 at my house !!

Did you see the red eyes again, and hear the laugh and so on?
