Hi everyone! I'm sure this will interest you all

I live in a coastal village in Cape town, South Africa....

Around a year ago one one of my late night strolls on a clear windless night with a near full moon I was around 50 meters from an open drain at the end of a road I was going down when a huge shape shot with absolute silence from a 4 meter high tree on the right and funneled down into the open drain in more or less half a second, it moved like a fluid ,starting out big and tapering down as it moved to the drain.

As I saw it,it didn't quite register and I remarked “I saw THAT!” to myself not really sure what I saw, I half decided to turn around but never being too smart decided to carry on past the drain.

As I started nearing the drain I kept to the far right of it as possible and then a furious thrashing started on the grass that grows in this drain, of course thats where I lost and bravery I had summoned at that point ,but since I was past the point of no return, headed down the walk way after the drain looking back as I took the corner and it seemed to have lifted out of the drain a bit,I got the distinct impression it was looking at me.

Anyway thats the last I saw of it.

I checked out the drain the next day and the grass growing in their was roughed up alright

But thinking about this later on I came to some conclusions about this thing.

1.It couldn't move through solid things since it shaped itself into the drain and moved from a tree
2.It seemed to be intelligent as I got the distinct impression it did that to get a reaction from me
3.It was able to rough up the grass with considerable strength
4.It was very fast (memory flaws accepted) I would estimate it moved at around 80-100 kph
5.It is either very light or moves without air or ground contact since the tree didn't seem to move as it left and air propulsion should create noise
6.It is able to shift it shape liquid like and extremely fast

Also interestingly, about two months later they built a covering over this drain, now in Cape Town things like this take forever to happen, the municipalities are horrendously useless, to me its odd that within two months of this they should cover this particular drain and no others around there.
I have a few runaway theories but I don't know what to make of that really...

I have no idea what something like this might be. It seems it should be a bird, but not like any I know of.

Snake perhaps? could you see(from your limited exposure) "how" it moved? Did it slither, leap, slide, fall?

Seeing as it was only in view for half a second, your eyes could just be playing tricks. The grass would just be a coincidence.

Howzit Vartarg - welcome to the forum, from me!!! Tell me, where in CT is this drain, where did this event occur? As you say MOST odd to have the municipality covering the drain so speedily....

Have you never heard of the movie "The Blob"?? It's like a jello that attacks people. pretty funny.

There was a giant amoeba colony found in a cave in the US. It ate ate fungus and bat droppings and could slither around and change shape, but it wasn't that big (I don't know if it could move as fast as your blob). Could they possibly be the same sort of thing?

I think we're having our legs pulled here guys.

Hopefully you can find the "drain" in question when you get to Cape Town...something tells me that it will be hard to miss....it will be the one with the feet sticking-out of it...

Well, it's the only conclusion I can come to as to why Vartarq hasn't posted since the original entry.....I hope he was wearing his "scary-looking slime-thingy" underware.

I had a reply I was going to post today but its at work and the darn power went out


It was't a solid blob or anything weighty since the tree (from the distance I saw) it didn't move!

I rekond it to be sort of gaseous except as it moved down its borders were sharp, this is what puts it out being just my imagination, plus the grass getting thrashed around was very violent I don't think anything could could have just made that sound

the drain is in kommetjie at the blocked off end of sunbird circle (that should put you right there!)

I'll put together more details if our power comes back on

Kommetjie is the name of the area man! It's probably dutch since it's sound so Dutchie...guess we've got 'em in our land for 350 years and haven't hought us any of their lingo yet, ey?

I say lets get a posse together and go investigate the drains there...

A bit more detail I missed...

The visibility that night was very good, the moon was almost directly above and it was bright enough that I had a clear shadow and the air was crystal clear that night and the place where it moved over was right in the direct moonlight ,right out in the open.
As it shot through the air it was sharply defined and it was absolutely black, darker than any of the
shadows so it stood out and I made it out surprisingly clearly from the tree right into the drain.

Yes it was very quick under a half second but it was also very clear to see.
Once I was going down the path and looked back its edges were fuzzy ,not clearly defined anymore
I could see the central area was too dark since I should see the road behind the drain well enough
But I couldn't really tell where it ended and the road behind it began.
This is why I say it was a gaseous like thing.

Also, we have a monastery in our village and a cross up on the hill by it, and a year or two ago an occultic flag was planted near to the cross and stood there for a few months.

One group of our police have also seen things like this when they were moving to break up a satan worshiping meeting
I actually can't stand up and claim that this was an Evil entity ,at worst with what happened it is mischievous since I'm sure if it did to me what it did to the grass I wouldn't be in a good condition.
But if the Cops are to be believed they hang around satan get togethers, so who knows?

Do these "Satan get-togethers" happen often?

Often enough that the Cops felt the need to dedicate a department to this sort of thing
(They were commiting some really sick murders)

He made mention that "Satanic worship" (hence the "horny little devil" reference) sometimes takes place there, and insinuated that they gather on clear nights where the moon is full.

I wonder if the "clear night" brought-out the Satanic jock-strap-kissers that Vartarq mentioned.....EVIL WAITS FOR NO MAN!!!....at least that's the rumor.
