Well I was Reading this Manga ( japanese Comics) called D Gray Man and theres this enemy thats called the Millenium Earl, or "The Alchemist Who travels time". The Artist of the book claims that its based on a real legend or myth that he doesnt age and he is still alive somewhere today. Anyone have any idea or links about this? or maybe the artist was lying >.>;

Doesn't Dracula live forever? And what abt the Highlander?

Actually, I don't know of any urban legends where there is someone who lives on and on. I've read lots of fictions stories and one that is supposedly real which I read somewhere on the net years ago, I don't know where anymore. It wasn't an urban legend, though, it was one of those rare and unique mysteries you find floating abt at times, makes for good reading tongue.gif

I suggest doing an extensive search on the net and see if you can find anything.

thumbsup.gif The artist of the book is refering to the famous Count de St.Germaine,who was famous as an alchemist,diplomate,writer ,linguist etc. of the 18th century.
His story is quite interesting and if you google his name,you can find out more about him than I can tell.

Ah. My favourite anime/manga.

anyway... if you're talking about an immortal alchemist my first thought is Nicholas Flamel. It is said that he found the secret to immortality through the philosophers stone or something. I may not be 100% accurate. Well from what I know, his tomb was empty or something so people speculated that he was still alive. (well either that or his actual tomb is hidden somewhere)

and there's some stuff from wikipedia on Nicholas Flamel...

Almost certainly. But there seem to be elements of the Wandering Jew legend here also.

That sounds kinda illogical. A guy walking around Earth with the power (And the will) to destroy the world, but not doing so? There may be an inspiration for the Earl but even though it is forbidden to question physics and science in manga (else the cat girls >.>) this one is a stretch.
