Does anyone know much about guardian angels or spirit guides, cos I'm a little bugged out about something that happened at a friends house. I'd gone back to her place after a night out and was planning on crashing there for the night.... it was only around 11pm when we got back from the cinema and her family was still awake and watching TV.... including her nan who i'd never met before.... but my mate had told me before that she was psychic and does reading for ppl etc...

As soon as i walked in there the nan started freaking out at me and telling me I have brought something evil into their house. She says it's my guardian, but is quite malevolent, in the form of a dog with wings and is aggressive.

I decided not to stay the night..... cos frankly i thought she was a mentalist...however, it has kinda bugged me since. Anyone else have a non-human guardian spirit type thing...?

That's not to say I have of course.... happy.gif

I wouldn't give it much thought unless she happens to give specific information that happens to corroborate some other experience of yours that she couldn't have known, or unless there's some other strong reason to think what she's saying could be true.

BTW, if she's psychic, she is a "mentalist." "Mentalist" means "mind reader." I think you meant "mental patient." grin2.gif

A dog with wings?
Pot + Hieronymus Bosch = seeing visions of flying dogs.
I would have stayed and lit up with the family. They had to have the kind of stuff they smoked in Viet Nam.

Seriously, I wouldn't worry about it. Probably just some old lady's way of manipulating who gets let in and who doesn't.

Firstly, try and discover how accurate she is with ther "sight"(for lack of a better word) from your friend...or if she's a complete nutter....that will give you a better idea of how much credence you should lend to her tirade.

I had been told by a friend of a friend(that supposedly had psychic ability) that I had a "spirit" watching-over my house(I have lived there since my birth, 33 years, and now own it) that was also described as "very aggressive".....but wouldn't give me any more information than that.....to say that I was a bit skeptical would be akin to saying that the Titanic was a semi-large vessel, lol.

You should have told her that if she didn't bake you a cake you were going to tell it to attack her.

I wish my pot provided me with terrifying visions.

I've been told I have a "spirit guardian" who's a stereotypical Indian chief with the huge feather head dress and all. And as AWESOME as that would be, I just don't buy the whole thing. Though I do often feel luck run through my soul like the buffalo across the plains.

I agree with trying to discover that woman's accuracy with her sight.
I do know that Angels exist. I believe in guardians that are Angels and animal spirit guardians, and have heard several people talk about Native American guardians. But I have not heard about a dog with wings. I wouldn't spend alot of energy worrying about this. But, real guardians are very cool.

Wow! I remember I was at a carnival in my university and there was a psychic doing her readings to all the students and then when it was my turn, she started to shake and get goosebumps and said that my guide was there(white, blonde woman dressed in white) and that she was very surprise because she had never seen/feel someone as clear and strong as she was seeing/feeling this guide of mine, and she said she loved me a lot, and i asked her why was she my guide, and she said that it was because I was exactly what she wanted in a daugther hmm.gif
OlDrippy34
I wish my spirit guide was George Clinton. And when I say spirit guide I mean basically "pal." So I wish I was friends with George Clinton.

I think this lady was over reacting. Gaurdians, Doorkeepers (esp) or spirit guides can appear agressive sometimes. She shoulda have gone by energy feel and not looks if she was receptive....

One of my spirit guides is a native american, he can be pretty fierce. My door keeper is extremely fierce looking and huge and doesn't take any sh** which isn't unsual, their job is to gaurd when working with spirit.... I also have an animal gaurd who projects as a bear when ever I need physical protection energy wise, he is very fiesty. Nothing to scoff at, and shouldn't judge by what's the outside either....
Acenaspheru
was it a big black dog by chance? I know this sounds crazy, but in one of the anime series i watch, there's a demon who takes the form of a big black dog with wings. i've since looked up the name but can't find any info on a possibly real entity, however the mangaka could have spelled it different, or the real spelling could have been lost in translation. in anycase it's comical, but a very bad one. if it wasn't for the fact that the mangaka has obviously done her homework on everything else she's written into the story, i wouldn't be convinced that there was such a demon. now that description is erily similar. look up the name sagottanus, or zaggotanus and you might come up with something, though i never have. XD haven't aquired any old violins or had a cornia transplant rescently have you?
samanthauk23
Hehe, I'd like to thank everyone for their input and also for keeping this light hearted, as I really was a little freaked out....(why? meh!....)

Oh, sorry I had no idea mentalist meant anything other than mad, but that serves me right for using Alan Partridge quotes to widen my vocabulary grin2.gif

I especially liked Coldethyl's suggestion of threatening to set the dog on her unless she provided me with baked goods, I'll try that one at some point lol.... still its probably baking too many hash cakes that made her see the damn thing in the first place!

Anyways, having googled away like crazy this morning and drawing a bit of a blank, I'm going to close this case on the basis that i believe the old woman to be 10 types of crazy!

If she truely did see something, do you trust her perception? I mean, if you did have a dog with wings behind you, who is to say it is evil?
Personally, I would say she was trying to freak you out, a little bit mentally unstable, or has a sick sense of humor
Tia
Who's to say it was a guardian angel?

Maybe you've just picked up a nasty little energy/ entity that has attached to you and it appears to people in a form that they're scared of.
luminousphoenix
I think she was either messing with you or didn't have a clue of what she was talking about.

All I know is if you are actually aware of who your spirit guides are, I have heard you have the choice to tell them you do not want them to be your guide. And I've also heard it said you can have more than one.

I personally think I may have 3...

I agree. The notion of a malevolent, or "aggressive" guardian angel (unless the aggression is to directly help you in a quick manner) kind of goes against the job. If there is a negative entity following you, I believe that the above is a likely scenario.

I've never heard of a guardian spirit or spirit guide being aggressive or behaving in a threatening manner towards anyone or anything. That's one clue for me that whatever it was the old gal saw, it wasn't your guide or guardian.

Guides are not here to kick ass for us - they're here to gently nudge us in the right direction or steer us towards people or places we should meet or go to. And although they might offer us some protection from things, they're not bodyguards.

Any kind of accompanying spirit or energy that can be described as aggressive should be treated with extreme caution.

Verdict: either the old lady was a bit confused hmm.gif or you have an elemental attached to you. I'd go visit a medium of repute and ask for an evaluation... yes.gif

I agree with you Loonboy, and after some thought I perhaps wasn't clear in describing my own. There is agressive in a negitive sense which is not good and i agree no spirit duife or gaurdian would be of that.....Then there can be assertive and fierce looking but in a positive sense which is how I described in particular my doorkeeper guide. That role is the role of a bodygaurd for the spirit world. Just to make myself clear where I wasn't before, this isn't to do with the physical world or having a body gaurd 'for' the physical world, it's all for on a spirtual level if your open/working in it.

Basically what this woman claimed about being scared off by this so called gaurdian spirit/angel does sound way over the top. They wouldn't purposely do that to another human being. I just wondered if she had maybe caught a glimspe and got a fright by how it looked rather than felt...either that or shes 1 short of something...

Celumnaz
maybe it was reacting to the old lady... maybe the guardian was doing it's job and she has a reason to fear it.

wonder what would've happened if you had whistled and shouted "sic her!"

Hallo again.

I think we're basically singing from the same hymn sheet, Anvil. yes.gif

I have asked my own guardians/guides for assistance when I didn't know which option to choose or when I felt that I was too close in to see the larger picture and thus my own choices would be flawed.

I have also asked them for help and protection in places that were active in a negative way.

In that latter sense, they are my bodyguards, by the way of deflecting any negativity that is directed at me, or those I love. But they do not go on the offensive.

Celumnaz, that's an interesting idea: maybe the old gal was afraid of it because it was 'on to her'... huh.gif

Hahahaha...might have done-in the old girl, can't have that on our conscience.

I have enjoyed reading all your posts, this thread has been rather entertaining. I do have a couple questions myself for Samantha: After you googled, have you since considered trying to visit this old lady again, to see if she reacts the same way? Or maybe even someone else who claims they are responsive to these things, to compare?

That wouldve scared me, im not gonna lie, I have a vivid imagination, so I wouldve come up with something bizarre to scare myself sensless with that bit of information. Although the best thing I guess to do is what you have done. Research a bit, and basically shrug it off.

About ten years ago or so, I was conducting a traffic stop along an empty stretch of roadway at about 5 in the morning, nobody else around but the man in the truck I stopped and me.

I asked him for the vehicle registration because there was no tag on the car and he'd been driving and acting a bit strange, and something about the whole bugged me enough to stop him instead of heading for the substation for shift change to start my day shift (and get some COFFEE!).

Nice man, said he'd just bought it and yes, he had the paperwork in the glove compartment, just let him get it, and he reached over and then it got wierd *smiles*

I heard a voice say quite audibly "GET BACK!" and what felt like a hand slammed into the shock plate of my bullet proof vest and literally lifted me off my feet and a seeming eternity/split second later I was crouched 30 feet away behind my (now) open car door with my gun drawn and seeing the man's silhouette in the truck as he came up with a gun from his glove compartment and turned as if in slow motion to shoot me at his door. It was surely a split couple of seconds, and then he freaked out because....

I wasn't there. I wasn't anywhere.....

He panicked, gunned the truck, bogged in sand which suddenly buried him to the axels and in the end, he went to jail for multiple violent felonies. He'd just stolen the truck, was wanted in a mess of crimes statewide, and it took me 8 freakin hours to book him on the charges that kept coming in as he and his arrest hit the national system.

I walked back and gave him his charges as he sat slumped in his cell, and when he'd read them over he looked up at me in puzzlement and asked why I didn't charge him with anything related to his attempt to kill me (which would have been the worst thing on his extensive record, ever, to that point and probably gotten him prison for life with the rest of the mess). I replied, "Because you never had a chance, and it was evident that either my angels or your's stopped that from happening, not any clever savvy on my part, so I'll leave it between you and God."

He broke down and cried and collapsed on the floor weeping in his cell.

I walked away.

But, I'll tell you this. If my guardians want to look like slavering demons from hell, or winged dogs, they can knock themselves out and I am not interested in what some loon I don't even know with supposed powers, who'd beat her kids has to say about it.

But I'd never touch her donuts, either *grins*

You are not allowed to look into the eyes of an angel. Sometimes when they want to meet a human they pass through transfiguration so that their eyes are no longer orbs that reveal the inner secrets of the heavenly realms.

I've got a friend who has third eye and can communicate with spirits. He says my house as a "door spirit" guarding the door to my apartment. It appears as a huge male figure, totally black in colour. 'His' job was to guard the house from entry by other spirits.

Very interesting thread, peeps original.gif

How can I find out if I have a familiar/guardian angel? I would love to believe in angels/guardian angels or what they prefer to be called, but to say that I've been feeling lost for a while now is an understatement.
I would really like to know dontgetit.gif

I would suggest you start a conversation with yourself about that lost feeling, as if you were talking to your angel/guardian/guide, and see what comes to mind.
