this might be a stupid Q.
but does anybodle here think they have a inner beast?
or at least think they do?
like has any body felt something when you feel Courageous, in danger, or frighten
Cryptoman
I sort of do. Like when I'm eating a steak, I just want to put down the fork and knife and sink my teeth into it like an animal. I'm a wild beast devil.gif
Celumnaz
are you talking about Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde?

Do you mean a literal beast?

If so, no, no body has an inner beast.

“There is a beast in man that needs to be excersised, not exorcised.” - Anton LaVey

I think we all have a bit of beast inside of us. Urges, cravings, way we take a look at life and depending if we act it out or beat the beast into submission... it's really your choice. devil.gif

Hi, Nice to meet you.

ALmost everyone thinks they have some sort of beast inside to some degree. Its alot more rare to find people who truley believe they are pure.

I could easily be a serial killer, but don't because I don't want to go to prison....

definitely believe that the wild is barely tamed in man..... lies just below the surface....

Prison is for only those that get caught. wink2.gif

I truely belief we all have our little dark secrets we don't want to reach the surface or be known by others. I know I have my fair share. Social taboos are a pretty good suppressor of our beasts... Which is more dangerous I think because some people just can't play with their beast now and then... The beast just breaks out one day.

Are you familiar with the theories of Freud? He basically hypothesized that the self is created out of three pillars: the Ego, the Id, and the Superego. In Freudian psychology the Id is the part of the self that involves base, primal, animalistic urges and craving, “the inner beast”, the Superego is the part that is formed from various societal taboos and morals, something that can be described as the conscience, and the Ego is the negotiator between the two. In short the Id states, “I want, I want, I want”, while the Superego is the one to make the self’s behavior socially acceptable by stating that the Id can’t have its craving. We all have a dark side.

Things that bring out my inner beast:
Stupidity. Just wanna go medieval on 'em.
Whaler's Dark Rum. Ask my wife about Captain Caaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaveman!
Poker. Nicest guy in the world away from a table. At the table I bust even my wife out with no remorse.
Playing sports. Everything is either a contact sport or should be.
Marilyn Manson, Godsmack, Ozzy. Great psyche up music, could run through a wall after listening to it.

You can call it what you want: Freud's theories, civilized veneer, or simply "people are better than that", but we all have those moments when the nice-person mask slips, even just a little, and the beast shows it's face.
