QUOTE
Bob Marley, was a Jamaican singer, songwriter, and guitarist. He is the most widely known performer of reggae music, and is famous for having popularized the genre outside Jamaica. A faithful Rastafari, Marley is regarded by many as a Rastafari prophet, as well as one of the greatest songwriters of all time.

What can i say, i respect eckogangsta more everytime he posts.
Bob Marley!!!! Great choice! grin2.gif

Well, the question is for favorite ARTIST or Musician of all time. Not BAND!!

Kiss, Korn, Alien, Mutant, whatever, are not worthy of this forum, for they are a group of artists, and aren't even in the category of BOB MARLEY!

If you saw my house, there are Artists faces all over the walls, i adore music and art.

So, as far as a favorite? ... hmm.gif tis very difficult.

All time:
*** Bob Marley (excuse me while i smoke my spliff)
- Jimi Hendrix (excuse me while i kiss the sky)
- Garnett Silk (music is the rod and we are moses)
- John Lennon (imagine there's no countries, it isn't hard to do)
- Notorious BIG (sky's the limit)
- Tupac Shakur (i was born not to make it, but i did)
- Nat King Cole (unforgettable)

Alive: Damian Marley, he is brilliantly unique with his style, a refreshing artist. Revolutionist.

They do. I love you for saying that. grin2.gif

Nit picky aren't we, Kaknelson?

If I had to just go with a solo artist then, instead of who I said earlier, I would say Eric Idle. wub.gif
Thunderbolt
Korn does not suck! mad.gif
you want to know what sucks
Greenday
My Chemical Romance
and other Punk Rock bands!
angrycrustacean
Favorite group is The Tea Party.

Favorite artists would be Eric Clapton, B.B. King, Jeff Martin, and Raymond Watts.
Shuriken
Greenday doesn't even play punkrock...

Anywho...My all time favorite is Jim Morrison...
Melly
My favourite artist is a tie between Elton John and Freddie Mercury. They're both great entertainers.

My favourite band, however, is Pink Floyd.

Hendrix... although Motzart almost came out on top but I factored in performance art too. SRV was just under motzart and Dimebag is scowling at me.

Greenday is just some garage wannabe punks who's music has nothing to do with the term "punk"...(they have also been called "MTV punks")
Now SexPistols play punkrock...

Of all time - Johnny Mathis

Johnny Mathis has the distinction of being the first recording artist to have a Greatest Hits album released. The album, simply titled Johnny's Greatest Hits was released in 1958 and peaked at number one in Billboard's Pop Album charts. It would stay on the charts for nearly ten years, a feat that was not equalled until 1983 by Pink Floyd's "Dark Side Of The Moon" album. source

Oh my god yes, SRV is amazing. Listening to him now. Astonishing, all of it.

And Green Day is just about as punk rock as the Sex Pistols. That is to say, not at all.

Open a window and learn proper grammar.

For me it would have to be Celldweller, although at first it would appear to be a band but if you look deeper into Celldweller it is the brainchild of Scott Albert aka Klayton. He writes the lyrics and plays all of the instruments on the album plus creates the album artwork / photography by himself. So if you are into industrial metal, dance, rock or rap check check out celldweller thumbsup.gif

Well its pretty hard to pick one. So I wont.

If you'd asked for the 'best' music artist of all time, then Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart without question , my favourite..hmm , i'll go for Jimi Hendrix.
MadMachine
As of recent times, Marilyn Manson. I really admire the guy.
Saint
Bruce Springsteen is up there...
Jok3r
Mine would be Eminem. I think he is a great artist, and unlike others he doesn't rap about his money, cars, etc. He raps about his life and how hard it was for him growing up. Recently he started rapping about politics.
Unfortunately right now, he isn't writing songs because his best friend was shot and killed.
Vulgore
Devin Townsend without a doubt. The guy is a musical genius. Wether it's his solo work, or his other band Strapping Young Lad. His music is just beyond anything out there.
deliria
My Chemical Romance isn't punkrock. They're more emo-whatever than anything.

My favourite musician would have to be Frank Zappa, as Glenn Danzig, Jim Morrison, and Jello Biafra never played (as far as I know) instruments on a record.

This is incorrect.

Deliria, I think Danzig may have played some instruments on some Samhain and maybe some Danzig albums, but I'm not sure.
