Harte
Hey everyone.

I'm Harte and I just joined.

I'm very interested in the "alternate history" section of this board, and am a hard line skeptic about the various theories floating around out there regarding this area.

I look forward to helping everybody come to some sort of understanding about why it is that the archaeologists are right and Hancock and vonDaniken are wrong.

Hello there.
Since you seem to be ready and open to questions, I would enjoy reading an explanation to the underwater area off the coast of Okinawa.
There may be a thread here somewhere on that topic or for underwater archeology. original.gif

Bella,

I took a look around and came upon this post by the incomparable Doug Weller. (Doug is too modest to tell you how incomparable he actually is. I knew of his website and used it for years before I found out I could actually talk to the man on forums such as this one.)

Anyway, here's a link to what Doug said - it's from a post about those Bosnian Pyramids that turned out to be fraudulent:

Doug's Take

If you read that you'll see where Doug quotes a geologist (Robert Schoch.) Schoch is the same geophysics prof that has stirred everyone up over his estimation for the age of the sphinx.

Here's a link to the full text of what Schoch has to say about Yonaguni (it's a natural formation.)

Schoch sez Yonaguni not man made

If you get a look at some aerial photos of Yonaguni Island, you'll see that it has a similar morphology to the Yonaguni "monument," except a lot of it is, of course, covered with vegetation.

And I mentioned Doug's website. It's in his signature, but it is so excellent that it bears repeating here:
Doug's Archaeology Site
It loads fast and it contains a boatload of info that Graham Hancock would rather you didn't know.

You should check out the other site listed in Doug's signature - The Hall of Ma'at

Now you know a little more about me, (and Doug, I guess,) which is ultimately the point of any intro thread.
