As i sit here typing away in this forum, i feel a little uncomfortable knowing too much information about the physics of our world and the universe at large. Although im fascinated it by it and understand it deeply, i wish i could make it all go away. i dont want to know that im on huge giant ball that orbits a star... i want the old view, the one where the earth was the centre of our universe, and everything revolves around us. the very notion that we are in orbit around the sun spinning at 1000mph and travelling at 65,000mph around the sun makes me very dizzy.

I want the earth to be the centre of the universe we live in, because it is our home, everything we have ever known has been here where we live.

i want the old view, but will never regain it...i get glimpses everynow and again, but for the remainder of the time im spinning unrelentlessly.
in fact im sure that when i get a major dizzy spell, its because my brain reverted back to a state when i didnt know about the orbits, rotations and speeds. and for a brief duration my brain tried to balance its self. kind of like getting out of a spinning chair and regaining your balance...

Well if the sun was orbiting the earth, we would be thrown all over the place due to Its garvity. That why we are orbiting it, but you already knew that. So, why exactly would the world be a better place for you if it was still the center of the solar system?

Your missing the point. basically what im trying to say is, i dont like the view of the world we have today, i want the view i had before i learned about all the rest of it. In a world where the ground was in a fixed position, it was beneath my feet, unmoving, safe. now its flying all over the place with me flying all over the place...its a matter of perception, i cant regain the old perception, like i said i get glimpses of the old way of looking at the world, and for a brief time its brill, then my perception reverts back to the modern way of thinking....

It is kinda wierd when you put it like that. I would love to be the one to grant your wish, but I cannot. That is a matter to be discussed with the creator (god or otherwise).

I think that's one of the reasons for religion, to have the feeling of security despite the fact we know we're just inhabiting a tiny rock which could be annihilated at any moment. Happy thoughts.

Mmm...yes..i kind of feel a similar way sometimes...because it seems to me, that the more we personally learn about the deeper things(mysteries) in life, the more depressing and/or frightening reality tends to get..Infact(not sure about this one)..but i remember reading something years ago that basically stated that there was a higher rate of suicide amongst (higher)intellegent people than ones with a much lower IQ , -But don't quote me on that.

Hey! You can. You can create whatever world view you like. Thats the secret to life. Life is a game we are forced to play and in the end one we all lose, but the great thing is no one can force us to play by their rules. Create your own world view. Base it on what is impt to you. Live by it! act on it ! If they come to lock you up, explain that of course you are aware that it is not "real" and is in fact a construct created for your fun and enjoyment. Seriously, what you are experiencing is only a perception based on your current reality and your world view. If you find it too difficult to change the reality of the world around you, just try looking at it in different ways. Have Fun!
