Then, as he watched, she vanished. When Oliver was three he was at a friend's house, on top of the climbing frame, when he suddenly started yelling "Train!" He was pointing over the fence to the adjacent field. It turned out that, generations earlier, a railway line had passed through the field, exactly where he was pointing. Oliver's mother, Simone, was at her wits' end.At that moment, a woman standing nearby interrupted. She introduced herself as Dr Munchie (her real name is Manjir Samanta-Laughton). She said she couldn't help but eavesdrop on Simone's conversation. She was, she said, a qualified GP. "Well, then," Simone replied, "do you think Oliver has ADHD?" Dr Munchie said no. She said it sounded very much like Oliver was in fact a highly evolved Indigo child - a divine being with enormously heightened spiritual wisdom and psychic powers. Oliver couldn't concentrate, she explained, because he was being distracted by genuine psychic experiences. She said Indigo children were springing up all over the world, all at once, unconnected to one another.

There were tens of thousands of them, in every country. And their parents weren't all new age hippies. They were perfectly ordinary families who were realising how super-evolved and psychic their children were. This was a global phenomenon. Soon the Indigo children would rise up and heal the planet. Perhaps, Dr Munchie said, given this new diagnosis, Simone and Oliver might like to attend an Indigo children meeting at the Moat House Hotel in Bedford? Channel 4 was going to be there. Maybe the TV crew could follow Oliver about? Simone was desperate for answers. She wasn't going to close off any avenue. So that's how she and Oliver ended up appearing in the forthcoming C4 documentary My Kid's Psychic.

Climb over fence
Climbing frame
Child
Train

If the friend's house is in the same neighborhood he may be experiencing a message carrying haunting of a long dead child attempting to tell those she loved that they were not careless and it was not their fault that she was killed by the train.

It might be a one time incident rather than the child being pyschic. Others may have seen the ghost as children through the years but were ignored.

The mother I think was told that the boy was remembering a past life. But I disagree, I think it sounds more along the lines of what you said or he was picking up on residual energy.

Nice.

Reminds me of the great adventure game Indigo Prophecy. Had something to do with my ancestors the Aztecs and Mayans I believe.

Each new generation of children are more and more refined and talented. I think they have a longer youth somehow as well, relatively speaking. But i don't think the children of today are what are described as Indigo. But the following generations i think will develop into super beings eventually. There just not there yet.

Who doesn't have a friend or someone who has had a paranormal experience! There's nothing indigoish about such experiences i believe. Lastly i believe that we have not a clue as to what abilities these future children will develop. Time will tell.

Rubbish!

The Indigo Children is just another concept released by different authors which on the surface seem unconnected, to brainwash people into believing the crap, so they can sell their fiction books over and over again.

That's just my 2 cents.

Exactly. Parents with ADD kids that feel the need to make their children special. Bunch of BS.

You mean the human sacrificing nut job in the game that wore the grass kilt and turned people all goth by having them carve up their arms?

Good bad guy. I enjoyed the game a lot. original.gif

think I'm leaning towards Ykaedhi Aewee's analysis

I don't believe in "Indigo Children." There are supposed symptoms of being an indigo child on this site: http://www.experiencefestival.com/a/Indigo_Children/id/6305 (scroll down)
Many people have enough of those to be considered an Indigo Child, and not all of them are good qualities at all. I also think the idea of indigo children is a load of BS.
Novo
agreed, lets stop waiting on humans to evolve naturally and start evolving as societys.

Why are they called Indigo Children exactly?

Well actually the naming comes from the purple color of their auras, so you're close.

Let me explain something about this so called phenomenon:

People who are very earthly, with their feet on the ground have more of the colors of their lower chakra's in their aura, people who are not very connected to the earth tend to have more of the colors of the upper chakra's in their aura.
I've treated some of those that are not well connected, they are often ill, tired and in some cases they can have psychoses. On the other hand they pick up paranormal vibes faster because of their energy being at a higher level. The combination is awful. The energies and impressions they pick up have no way out, because their lower chakra's aren't working normal, so it all gets piled up.
These kids should learn to live in the here and now, learn to feel safe, do sports or other fysical activities to get the balance back in their energy-system and they would be fine. Encouraging them in their so called 'indigo' speciality is the last thing their parents or other people should do, nor ignoring that these kids have psychic abilities but gently guide them with that too. It's all about balance.

A stressfull environment, like stressing parents, tv, (too much) computer-games, but also some unsettling life-events like a loss of a parent, abuse, etc can cause that kids get somewhat disconnected and have those symptoms of 'indigo'-kids. No evolution, nothing special, but something that should be treated.

I really dislike those terms indigo-kids, new-age-kids. Kind of reminds me of the parents that let five-year olds do beauty pageants, needing their kid to be special because they want to feel special themselves. And yeah, it sells books.

skeff
I also watched this last and was totally amazed at how much some of the parents pushed their children into their own beliefs. whilst i do believe in esp and past life experiences, i think a lot of it was brainwashing from the parents. i cannot believe the girl (cant remember her name) who was living in the shed at the bottom of the garden, ' with the fairies'. Her mother had previously had several miscarriages and told her daughter the unborn babies were visiting her having grown up in the spirit world. I agree that this is a nice comforting thought but to tell a child at such a young age, must have an adverse effect. I found that a lot of the question from the film crew, were leading questions and expected a lot more from channel 4. I feel programmes like that go against people/groups that are trying to conduct proper investigations into such things and goes to show that a lot of it is parents brainwashing their children with their own beliefs.
ShaunZero
Well if my kid pointing somewhere saying "Train!" and there use to be a train there, I'd definitley think something was up, and it most certainly wouldn't be because I WANT him/her to be special.

You can't just ignore something like that. Why was the kid's comment so accurate? It's not very likely he knew a train use to pass there.
MadMachine
Perhaps the kid had the ability to pick up such residual imprints. A "Psychic" ability if you wanna call it that. But there are many people who can do that, and they don't call themselves indigo children. The whole idea of "Indigo Children" I think is comfort food for the mind of a lazy parent. After all, if their child comes into the world with the secrets of the universe, they may feel they don't need to lift a finger to educate him/her.
Mysterious Molecules
The whole thing about naming them Indigo Children started with this author : http://www.near-death.com/newton.html claiming he found a way, when doing past-life regressions, to make patients see what their souls we're doing INBETWEEN lifes. Ergo in "heaven".
He cleverly makes all his fictional patients see the same things and that all the highly evolved souls in "heaven" are Indigo colored = purple.

Saying that this stuff is brainwash, i can atleast back it with actually having read all his books and many of the other authors who then builds more on the story leading to the creation of Indigo Children.

Yes it also worked on me, hence the color of my avatar and sig, but luckyli i've realised the truth now tongue.gif

Thanks for the explanation. original.gif
I've never even heard/read of this except on this site. grin2.gif
Strangeness
Rainbow Alice
I have to say, I think everyone gets those "psychic moments" o.x I've amazed myself by knowning who was calling before the phone rang a few times, but I don't go around telling people about dead loved ones and claiming to be the next "Sylvia Brown" *giggle-snort*

I agree with what most of you say, this is just another attempt at people turning something simple into something complicated. They arn't special, most children are able to remember past lives and see ghosts o.x its just the young mind that isn't toally loaded up with things so it's open to seeing and knowing things some of us can't. o.x
Mentalcase
If you ever read The Celestine Prophesy or The Celestine Vision, author James Redfield describes what he (and many others) believes to be "Indigo Children". I'm pretty sure he doesn't actually use the term "Indigo Children" but, I could be wrong.

Anyway, he gets pretty detailed about human evolution and goes on to describe these "children" as being the next generations. They will over-power the world but, at first, they will be shunned apon and thought of as ill or mutated (hence the ADHD?ADD crap). he actually mentions ADHD, etc.

As many more of these children are born over the next few generations, we will see a spike in technology as well as other areas of humanity. Evidence obviously shows us that in the past, this has already been happening.

IMHO,

Everytime you think of something original, someone else will eventually pick up on this idea telepathically. It happens all the time to me and to many others I've known. I'm not saying that I'm an "Indigo" persay but, I agree with Dark_Ambient when he says that this will happen much later. Obviously, the further into our evolution, the more progress. It's just now coming to light as people naturally perceive this idea with open arms. Just another reason to give this "Indigo BS" another chance.

I think there is something here. Too bad we wont know for sure till after we die.

I recommend the books I mentioned above to anyone with a slightly open mind. The Celestine Prophesy is a fiction basically aimed to help describe and get the basic emotions of his (and others) concepts across to people. You get the basic understanding of what auras are and how they feel, etc. It covers many concepts and is very "deep". I will love his books forever.

character
tv (think x-men, or most other comics) + microsoft paint = indigo children
a bunch of nonsense, just another attempt of people wanting/ thinking theyre the centre of the universe, humans have a tendency to see themselves as all important, better than all else. also if your kid is acting strange/non normal, then you wont say he needs help or something, its too embarasing, you say he's special.....
