Ace Ventura 3: Carrey Not Included

From The Hollywood Reporter: "Morgan Creek has begun the detective work on a kooky cold case. The production company has hired Jeff Sank and brothers Jason and Justin Heimberg to write a third installment of the hit franchise "Ace Ventura." The two previous "Ventura" comedies -- 1994's "Ace Ventura: Pet Detective" and the following year's "Ace Ventura: When Nature Calls" -- grossed more than $180 million domestically and helped establish Jim Carrey as one of the highest-paid comedy actors in Hollywood. The latest pet project is expected to center on the eccentric detective's son, who steps into his father's shoes to take over the family business."

Ooh boy, the "eccentric son sequel" routine. Let's hope this one's as good as "Son of the Pink Panther.""

I cannot stress enough about what a horrible, HORRIBLE idea that is. The first 2 movies are classics, and now these douches are going to ruin it? Sorry, but there is NO Ace Ventura without Jim Carrey.

You got me all excited in chat about this movie and now I come to find out Carrey won't be in it? How can they do such a thing?

Well there is no jim carrey can't really do much about it I only liked part two the first one watchable because it had Dan Marino in it.

This one already looks dumb his son i bt in the end the son realizes he can't and won't live of to his father so he will leave the pet detective busineess to follow his dream and be a porn star or something.

This is going to kick about as much ass as a one-legged dude in an ass kicking contest.
Over before it's even filmed. You know, they could just give me the money instead of torturing people with it. At least then they'll put a smile on one persons face.

Ugh... Ace Venture is carrey, you cant have a cheese sandwhich without the cheese or bread!

Do they actually think this film is a good idea?

Why'd they have to go with the son thing? Couldn't they have found a talented new actor to make famous and switch out the Ace's as they switch out the James Bonds?

I think we should be thankful that they have atleast gone this route because I would rather them do this than just try and replace Jim... Jim is Ace. Ace is Jim. You just wouldn't be able to find another actor to play the character so well.

Now I happened to like the Dumb and Dumber prequel and thought the guys they got to portray the younger versions did a good job..

Personally I think think if they are gonna be serious about doing this and doing it good then they need to get that guy, Eric Christian Olsen to play his son.

But overall this is a pretty bad idea... They should have done a 3rd ages ago while Jim was maybe still interested but it has been so long now that he has no interest in playing the character which is a bit of a shame because he does it so well..

Yet another classic film/series ruined by the lack of Carey not being there Dumb and Dumber classic film with Carey the sequal/prequel was awful and reuined the series. The Mask one of the best comedies in my opinion again ruined by no carey in the sequal.

Therefore this one will suck and i won't watch most likely unless theres no better films to rent or watch at the time.

I think the Duce Bigalow guy could pull off a good Ace.

This is defiantly going to ruin it. How stupid are they not to include Carrey? He is the star of the movie and no one will be able to replace him in the sequel. This movie is gonna suck so why bother making it. Jamie Kennedy is kinda funny but the The Mask 2 suck. Dumber and Dumberer was just awful.

i liked dumb and dumberer but dumb and dumber cannot be beat.I didn't even waste my time with The Mask 2,not even gonna think about Ace Ventura 3 or even doctor dolittle 3,or any of those crap movies where the kid or another family member takes over.

^Or HOme Alone 4 (*shudders* a week ago, I'd have sworn blind that the creators were smart enough to leave it at 3 movies, then I saw a video in the shop for number 4 ). Sorry, back on topic.

Ace only worked due to Carey, without him and place some other guy in the role and i feel it wouldn't of worked at all, shame. I wonder if it's Carey not wanting to spoil the films or the producers can't afford him....

im sure thay could afford carey i think he is like a K-list celebrity now
