Nixon left office in disgrace 6 years before Lennon's assassination, and Lennon had been out of the public eye for years in 1980.

Well you are probably right...Chapman was probably a dumb unemployed "fly around the country" guy who just read the C-inthe-R and was adept at short range shooting with a short barreled handgun. How hard can it be? Pop, bring it down, pop, bring it down - do it five times on a target that is falling.

And of course you are right in that Lennon did the publicity stunt for peace by staying in bed for awhile - that is all he did after that right? LOL. He wasn't one of the nuts (like Howard Hughes) he didn't get shot in bed. He didn't die with 8 inch fingernails.
