I am scared of fear #6 and fear #9 the most

This thread was ment for the purpose of writers being able to get ideas. I am also looking for disturbing things that do not involve the flying spagettie monster. writers will find use of this thread and you might too, if you're writing a horror story.

My #1 fear:
Someone finding out my #2 fear after I posted it on the internet, and using it against me.
The un-numbered fears:
leadership positions
manner of my death/pain
mistakes
things I don't know
other fears derive from that... like fear of height comes from my fear of making mistakes... like letting go or leaning too far over... fear of some insects/animals (i.e. some spiders/snakes) because I don't know enough about some of them and don't know what they're about to do... or when I know someone's going to "get me" (prank or whatever) and I don't know how or when, I just don't know what I don't know and what I don't know Can hurt me...

"I'm afraid of Americans...."
Sorry, too much of a Bowie fan not to put that in there.
Truly, not much scares me. I used to be terrified of
everything as a child and once I learned to deal with it, most of my fears went away. Most every situation can be handled, if one stays calm.
A few fears still linger, but they are not of concrete things, but more abstract ones.
* I'm afraid that my wife and I will never conceive a child.
* I'm afraid that God might be as angry and insane as the Bible portrays Him, and that we are all, in fact just "sinners in the hands of an angry God."
* I'm afraid that my worst fears for mankind will be realized and humanity will just keep getting stupider and lazier until were brainless blobs of electrons, incapable of thought or movement.
* I'm afraid "Brave New World" is prophecy.
* I'm afraid death really is just the end of everything.
"Fear is the mind killer....fear is the little death."
Sorry read 'Dune' too many times.

9. I am scared of fat people who give you diet tips.
I'm scared of all of the above, too, especially the soup with cheese. Ever tried Top Ramen with cheese & hot dog chunks? It's truly terrifying, trust me, especially when the 'cook' accidentally used sugar in the boiled water instead of salt.
Anyway, the Unknown is the stuff of horror. You can have all the monsters you want, all the blood-drenched serial killers you want and even all the dripping/oozing aliens you want, but unless one factors in "the Unknown," it's not horror. That's why movie sequels of successful horror flicks never work (Hollywood has yet to learn this), because the 'unknown' has already been revealed in the first incarnation of the story. All horror is essentially a mystery - Have some strange events begin to occur, have people question these events while others die. Drop clues, but don't give away your monster/alien/cheese soup until the very end.

4. I am scared of the leviathan.
I didn't know I was all that intimidating, I'm really a nice person
1. Losing control over myself and the world around me.
2. Finding an opponent that I cannot vanquish (literally and/or metaphorically)
3. Drowning
4. Spiders (thats why they are present among my totem power animals.)
5. Cockroaches ((I had a bad experience))
My wife is insanely afraid of moths. I don't get it, what did a moth ever do? All mothra could do was spit silk, kinda gross I guess. . . but scary?

I actually ment THE leviathan. The one that will cause some massive distruction. Bit either way, i dont like big sea serpents with seven heads that is considered an apacolyptic creature.
Buti am also scared of inhuman spirits. They can (and most likely will) turn you insane from the stuff they do.

Fear can be debilitating, and I've always been too curious to be afraid of much....for me fear equals weakness on some level... so maybe I'm afraid of weakness...

if you think about it, elevators are kinda scarry. If the steel cable suddenly collapses and it goes falling down a 38 story building, i would have to say i would be scared too.
But when fear number 9 collides with a small fear of elivators, it suddenly seems apacolyptic. especially when the elivators are full of number nines.

Drowning. Can't even think about it.
Also aliens, heights... And people who make fun of me... and rude people...
Of course, insects, cockroaches, but I don't think it should be called fear, this feeling is a bit different, it's like...disgust, but very scary.
Oh, and sometimes I imagine myself in a very long and narrow pipe, trying to crawl out of it - damn, that is really scary

No Random order:
1. The Dark-Sleep with nightlight on and shut my comp off at night as last thing so I have time to run down the hall to get to bathroom (with the light already being on) before the comps lights go out.
2. Spiders-Bad experiences and my uncle almost died from one.
3. Clowns-Won't even go there. Just always been afraid.
4. Fire-I can't stand thought of burning up alive or car flipping over while I burned up in it.

5.Drowning-Had 2 Near death drownings when I was younger. Because everyone thought I was faking it and I wasn't.
6.Loosing loved ones-Always scared my mother or mother n law or my daughter or hubby (her father) is gonna die before me.
7. Hell and possibility that there is nothing after death.-Was raised growing up in a bible belt community and afraid of going to Hell or that there is nothing after death.
8.Maggots-Ugh they just make me 'eeeee'.
9.Tiny Spaces-Always been clastorphobic but the movie 'The Descent' made it worse.
10. Demons- They scare the bjesum out of me. They go with fear of Hell and The Dark because I'm always afraid I'm gonna see one when I go to bed or see one in the darkness and that they will jump up and grab me.

-----------------------------------------------------------
All of these I live in fear of everyday in my life. NO JOKE!!! I am scared of all of these.

Grasshoppers/crickets. They disgust me to no end. I don't have a problem with (most) other insects, but grasshoppers are all jumpy and spiny and gross. Uuughh.
I also have mild claustrophobia, but I've made a point of getting myself into tight spaces when possible, and it's pretty much gone unless I let it get to me.

roflmfao
wow... i feel ure pain, almost...
a good refrence to that is the movie Resident Evil<=== the first one, so anyway they get on a elevator and then they start to drop like 20 floors but it stops, and there is about 10 people in there. So they get to the next floor barely and they open the elevator doors. A woman sticks her head out and the elevator just begins to drop, and u know what happens next...

Well, from what i have researched, everyone is scared of something. No matter how tough, fearless, or heartless, everyone has a worst fear, but you do not have to post them. I can say that the leviathan is suppose to be the most terrifying creature ever to walk.... errrm... swim, the earth. But remember, you dont have to post your feasrs, you can keep them to yourself.

If you have seen hellraiser 4, the ending is what made me be carefull about what i do. A crooked cop lives a life of... i cant think of the word. But after he dies, he wakes up and sees that it was all a dream. Untill he recieves a phone call from the girl that got killed in his "dream". He commits suicide and wakes up, and it's the same thing. It's like a nightmare to live like that over and over again!

most of these fears are alright once you experience and get over them. My biggest fear is being forced into pretensious small talk with common people.
