I respect your opinion that you think "the world goes downhill" because of this type of thinking. But, I think you need to be a little more open to the possability. What if we CAN change the physical world by thinking? No one is telling you to sit on your ass doing nothing. They ask that you just try it. Think positive, think about what you want. Put yourself in the correct mindset and see what happens.

I did also hear about a man who changed water molecules with his mind. But I'm sure skeptics will have something to say about that too.

Had a lengthy reply for this thread, but when i saw these quotes they said it all. Hadn't realised they came from such a lofty personage as Buddha, but if you apply them literally they seem to sum up what the author of this thread was on about, and also one of the cornerstones of my philosophy on life. The inverse of this is "we often act on what we see, not on what is."

This in not about me being the fountain of knowledge. Its about you not making any effort to investigate you claim. You presented no data as to why you are so sure this theory holds any validity. To me that shows fantasy and not reality.

LOL, seen the movie when it first came out ("The Secret" right?). Even participated on their forums for a while. Why?, because certain things in my life have appeared to be a result of me practicing the "Law of attraction" without me even knowing. Now you can well read all you want into what is happening and believing there is something 'magical' happening is just fine. What IMO is happening though, and there should be no surprise, is that similar to seeing number patterns and making those stand out in your memory, you pretty much do the same with situations in your life. You emphasize the positive, brush off the negative. With this new mindset, if something positive happens in your life the automatic cause becomes LOA - not some coincidence or causal effect. I could swear I was attracting a lot of positive things. I wanted more money and voila was getting calls to have this and that done. Upon examining the causes however I have come to realise that there is no magic 'attractor' but effects of something I had sown much earlier. Oh, lookey here, another parking spot available just when I need it, or lights are green again, yay, little do you realise that you are willingly forgetting about the times when there was no spot available or when the lights were red. Positive thinking is fine and in most cases will get you what you want, but there is no need for a 'magical' 'attractor' (but it sure as hell makes things easier to think there is) just ambition, confidence and drive.

With regards to "What the Bleep", what you must realise is that this is an entertainment movie. Much of the physics presented in that movie has been exaggerated beyond science. Mention the name of the movie on a physics forum and you'll literally be laughed off the stage. What you must remember is that Quantum Physics is just that, physics on a Quantum scale. The moment you start presenting it on a micro/macro scale you've officially left the world of physics and entered imagination.

With regards to Dr Emoto's water study, this says it all . Make sure you read the "Addenum" and "Still not enough" sections for some amusing insight. None of Dr Emoto's finding have been corroborated by real scientists and no same-emotion crystals have been reproduced, hmmmm.

He changed the molecules(I think molecules) of the water by making them form perfect crystals. They took a before and after image. Google it, might be able to find something. If I'm not mistaken his name is something like Mr. Amoto or something.

The way I interpreted you post is that you can make anything happen whenever you want, like some kind of God (no offense intended to anyone out there for referring to him as a God).
But I have believed in what that video states for a while now.

When you fill your mind with positive thoughts, you fill your life with positive things. And the same goes for the negative.

This is all a state of mind kind of thing, I wouldn't describe this as being some magical phenomenom, it makes sense.
