I'm looking for someone who will work together with me to write a short story, preferably science fiction or horror. Needs to have at least 2 hours of spare writing time a week.

Ashiene - if you want feedback on your more R-rated stories, I can recommend some very helpful writing groups I've submitted my own racy stuff to in the past. They were brutal, but they gave me advice I could honestly use.

Unfortunately, most 'serious' writers don't post their work or hang around in forums such as this one for feedback - a place where their work can too easily be stolen with a simple Google search. The work I've posted here of my own has already been published in some form or another. The writer's forums I'm referring to are mostly text-only and password-protected, too, so there's not much in the way of posting photos & signatures. But if you want SERIOUS feedback on your writing from people who know their stuff, let me know and I can provide the links. I can tell you this - your work is too good to be posted on chat forums.

Happy Writing,

- Jillian

Good idea.

Here's the links I mentioned, but bear in mind that these people will not spare feelings when it comes to writing. The guy who runs these two forums is a very gifted sci-fi/fantasy writer, his name is Mark and he knows his stuff. There is no censorship in his groups - he doesn't believe freedom of expression should be restricted in any way. A word of advice, though - he and I had a major falling-out last year and he has not spoken to me since. (Call it a difference of opinion on the subject of writing for publication that went a little too far). It's NOT a good idea to mention my name. However, I learned a great deal from him during my time in these forums, and as a mentor he's helped several people get published along the way. I refer writers with potential to him because I know he can help them refine their craft to publication-worthy status. Note that these two forums are members-only and you can only gain access by submitting a short piece of your work. If he approves it, you're in. Your work is protected there, as he doesn't allow just 'anyone' in and the work posted there is only accessible to members. He has several groups devoted to different genres, and you'll see links to those on his main page at Critical_Writing. I hope you have a thick skin - He's a harsh taskmaster, but he KNOWS edgy sci-fi and can give you honest, no-holds-barred advice. Again, do not mention my name.

Here are the links:

I'd be willing to help and or collaborate if you wish..Sci-fi doesn't thrill me much but Horror is a genre I enjoy, or crime drama..
As an added bonus I actually been published in both Amazing Stories and Cemetery Dance magazines so my name has come up to the editors before..
But..
I'd never use MSN as it ruined one computer on me already..
It's Yahoo and E-mail or nothing on that account..
