Do you think a ghosts can take on human form. do you think its possable to be fooled by one. there are many forms of ghosts from shadows to semi-transparent apparitions. many people have claimed to see people that just disappear. from homes to ghostly hitchhikers. what do you think?

There have been a few stories about ghosts handing people items or holding people. And a lot where ghosts touch people. So whether or not ghosts can take on corporeal form, they can at least affect objects in the environment.

Well.....a deep subject

A story from my x wifes best friend:

Her father had died and she at the time lived 80 miles away from where her father had lived. The day of the viewing of the corpse she was delayed while making the 80 mile drive, and by the time she arrived it was evening, and the funeral home was locked and closed.
While turning the knob on the funeral home door she saw that it was locked, and thinking she would wait until the next day, she turned to leave.

Suddenly she heard the workings of the lock "click" from the inside, and turning to see what it was, saw the door open and her father standing in the open doorway, telling her how nice it was that she had come, and telling her to come on in.
Predictably, she freaked out, ran to her car and drove to her mothers house where she related the story.

She swears this story to be true and is a good person, level headed and successful in life.
I have no reason to disbelieve her.
But since I didn't witness this firsthand, must take it with a grain of salt, as anyone would.

Maybe it's true, maybe it's not.
But she believes it.

Don't think ghosts can take on what we see as a solid human form, those encounters that I have read about normally center around subjects such as guardian angels. To me ghosts and angels fall into two different levels.

of course they can appear as fleshy form. haven't you heard the story where a boy picks up a lone girl on the street, gives her an object, and brings her to where she says her house is, and then goes up to check up on her the next day, and the house is gone, an official says it burned down years ago, and the girl died. the boy then investigates the house and finds the object he gave her? it is a common story, making it obvious that they can be fleshy, as the girl would have touched the boy while he gave her the object.

My point exactly. There's just a lot of stories of ghosts interacting with humans and the human in question can't tell that they're interacting with a ghost. Especially when they've been touched or exchanged objects.

Why would ghosts want to fool people? huh.gif

I don't think ghosts can take a solid form really. I see them more as forms of just energy. I'm thinking this because if ghosts could take a solid form in our plain of existance wouldn't that cause a lot of problems and wouldn't more ghosts be doing it? Surely not all ghosts are friendly so, it'd be something of the sorts of freedom of crime and causing problems. Perhaps even if they could attempt some form of becoming solid, maybe it could just be limited as well?

Why do humans want to fool people? grin2.gif

There is the old theory that Some Ghosts , if they have the strength of will , can create and use "Ectoplasm" to interact with this world.

Though I really dont put a lot of Faith in this idea. The energies needed would be more than a ghost could draw from its surrounding's. IMO!
Lady_Anvilabeel
If it's interacting with you then it is not a ghost. Ghosts are imprints of residual energy.

I think instances like these are to do with timeslip experiences.

This post reminds me of an experience I had with a friend driving home late at night. This was on Fort Dix Army base in New Jersey, and my friend and I lived next door to each other on Maguire AFB. We were just pulling out of our parking space on one road, and approaching the end of it, to turn on another. My friend was driving, and we were joking around. As we were approaching the end of the road we were on, we both noticed a young blond man, wearing a jean jacket and pants, with a red cap. I remember remarking how that the red cap did not go with the jean outfit. Of course my friend slowed down to let the young man pass the road and reach the corner of the two intersecting streets. As we pulled up and stopped, I glanced at the young man, walking very close to us, and I stared onto his back. I can remember seeing the back of his head and where his hair cropped down to the middle of his neck. I remember feeling puzzled, because he never turned his head around to notice us, even to make sure we were not going to hit him. He kept staring ahead. I told my friend that I thought that was wierd, he just didn't notice us. So I had turned my head to stare straight ahead, and my friend pulled out of the road we were on, and as we did, she told me she noticed the young man fade away. I thought that was wierd, he really seemed very real, nothing to make me think he was ethereal or whispy. I told her that maybe because it was dark, he maybe ran right into the nearby woods. She seemed bummed I didn't believe her and said she guessed that could be it. It would be a couple of years later, while researching on the net for a particular house in Jersey that I have been told by the owners that was haunted, that I came by a site that said that some have witnessed a teenage boy, in jean jacket and pants, wearing a red cap, can be seen walking late at night, at the road intersection where we saw him, and that he can be seen fading away. That spooked me, because he seemed so real. I just thought it was weird that he didn't notice us. Now I know why he didn't. So, yes I think ghosts can take human form, and yes I certainly was fooled by this one.

There have been many, many instances where spirits have manifested in what appears to be a solid form, as though alive. But I don't think that a spirit can hold up that appearance for very long, which is why they are so often seen to fade away.

This actually makes me wonder if ghosts could hijack a corporeal form to use. Not necessarily a person, but say a mannequin.
