I remember something about this. The news carried a public appology from a female astronaut, saying she got distracted watching a male crewmember float around the cabin.
She blurted something out- "NASA, we have an unidentified flying object". I have heard it. NASA claimed it was a female distraction... They issued a public appology that they said she wrote.

Hype? She was on a talk show on T.V., and was asked about it. She said not one word.

They were over South America. Anyway, it did not hamper her carreer, one whit. She was a very active scientist for years.

Here she is-

and I just found this, but had no idea.

Aint that the truth. And especially now that communications technology has made it possible to give global reach to the bizarre and archive it forever.

It is now, more than ever, essential for men and women of reason resolutely to counter the delusions of the fringe element.

Here is something about this- with the event mentioned. The link to the video does not
work.

But how do we know whether it's delusion or whether it's actually real?

Btw Do you ever credit the statements you use..?

Dear Debunker,

"What I desire to say now is, I'm afraid your adversaries are nearer right than yourself, even though all reason seems to be on your side.
They are nearer right than they realise themselves-for of course they go by theory, and cannot know what I know.
If I knew as little of the matter as they do, I wouldn't feel justified in believing as they do. I would be wholly on your side.
