The last 5-6 years I have been connected to a local billiards hall near where I live. First as a friend of the owners/co workers and daily customer, then as a full time employee (during which time I actually lived there for a few months), and now as just a part time employee. To put it plainly, I could write a book with as many ghost stories I have about the place. Crazy stuff that happened to me that others wouldnt believe until the same thing happened to them.

I am new here so forgive my noobness, is this the right place to post this? Would anyone like to hear my tales? Let me know. Stories range from seeing things, to hearing things, to smelling things, and also poltergiestish events.

**EDIT** I just realized I used the wrong spelling of here in the topic title and I can't change it. Damn.

I could make this 10 pages long if I told all the stories in detail. Also, it would be near impossible to tell them in complete chronological order so I think the best way to go about this is to divide the stories by catagory and tell the short versions. If any story sticks out and you want more details let me know. I will be there tonight and get some good pics of the building lay out. Couple of FYI's.... nowadays nothing to scary happens their (well sometimes but nothing like the stories I'm about to share). This is after a bible study rented the place out on tuesday nights for a few months. I am a Christian and I firmly believe that what resided at the Pool Hall was a demon(s) and that all the Bible talk drived it/them off. IMO. Anyways.... on with some stories. First a little history......

If my sense of direction is right.... just north of the pool hall is a small stretch of woods followed by a housing development built in the 90's (I've known 4 friends back there and 3 of those houses were haunted as well, coincidence?). To the east is the High School and to the west is a small shopping plaza. The Pool Hall rests just between them. The Pool Hall was built in 1999 I believe (I started going there in 2000). Before it was built it was just an empty field. One reason I think what haunted the place was evil/demons is b/c so much negative energy was there that they probably were attracted to it. Before it was built kids would skip school to drink and drug on the property where the pool hall is now and once the pool hall was opened..... lets just say the good kids didnt hang out there. Lots of bad things happened there. Especially behind the pool hall on the bike trail which runs between the HS and Pool Hall (lots of freaky things have happened on that bike trail also). One piece of history of interest is SUPPOSEDELY back in to 60's or 70's some lady drowned her kid(s) and left there bodies on or around where the pool hall stands today. Atleast on police offer confirmed this to be true. On to the stories (these are mostly from after hours, witnesses are mostly employees, friends of employees, or owners)......

SEEING IS BELIEVING
- On two different occasions (one of which I was present for) a white globe/streak was seen flying at a high speed from one end of the building to the other, going so fast it appeared as a streak. Both parties told the same story to other people w/o ever hearing it from each other. Point A and B of the flight was described as the same in both incidents.

- On night the owner (who never really believe her employees tales until this night) was closing up with me, she went into the girls room to turn on the light and saw someone standing at the far end but when she turned her head no one was there. She was so convinced that she saw someone that she was visibly shaking afterwards.

Did you hear that?

- 2 different people I was friends with both told me a story that one night they had heard what sounded like a baby crying or a shreek of some kind come from the back corner of the building. They both told me this at different times and had never related the story to each other and both described the noise as almost the same.

- one night more recently, the owner and 2 employees were closing up and were near the front door ready to set the alarm when the say they all heard a loud scream coming from across the building.

- one night at 2 am I was in the building with a friend. We were playing video games and that was the only electronic device on in the building that could make noise. I walked into the kitchen (which was only 5 ft from where we were sitting). I was about to turn on the light but stopped dead in my tracks when I heard what sounded like a little girl crying. It was so loud that it was echoing off the walls and it was defiently coming from the kitchen. I came out in tears for some reason and my friend hadnt heard a thing despite how loud it was. A few weeks later the EXACT same thing happened but this time my friend was in the kitchen and I was just outside of it watching TV and hadnt heard a thing. He was oddly enough in tears also.

- More then once I heard foot steps in the attick but one night was a peticularly scary event. Alone in the office I could hear very loud heavy footsteps that sounded like they were walking through the attick towards the office where I was. They were so loud I could tell where each step was located above me. When the footsteps reached above the office door the door frame cracked. The steps stopped right above me where the door is on the ceiling for the attick.

Watch out for that flying object!

- You already read about the figure in the girls room... Women complained frequently about toliets flushing totally by themselves in there. One night a few friends and myself went in to investigate and after standing there for a minute both stahl toliets flushed in a row. No one else was in the restroom. Quite a few times girls would come up to the counter and ask how the toliets managed to flush by themselves. I always feel uncomfortable in there and its not just the stories or the memories. The girls RR was/is defiently one of the hotspots. The other being the back corner where the stage is.

- Before I worked there I was alone with a friend who worked there and I was playing pool. He was in the office. Outside the office behind the counter there is a wall phone. Its not a regular wall phone. The Pool Hall is filled with old junk decorations like actually rail road crossing signs and traffic lights and stuff. This wall phone is in a green metal case. You swing the little door open to get to the rotary phone. Anyways, I'm playing pool 10 ft away and all of a sudden the door on the phone swings open really hard and smacks the wall loud enough for my dude to come out of the office and he is freaked. I understood why when I went over to investigate. The door is NOT on a spring and is a heavy metal door. It is physically impossible for it to open, let alone slam open by itself.

- One night I was in the office watching tv with the remote on my lap when I heard a thud which I thought was the remote falling off my lap until I saw it still sitting there. The remote that fell on the floor was the second remote that was on the desk by the TV, 3 ft from the edge.

- 2 different people have told me that they watched as window blinds went up and down by themselves.

- The owner and I who have been in there alone at night the most both have constantly heard what sounds like the front door being jinggled like someone is about to unlock it and come in yet no one is there. After awhile we became accustomed to it and btw it wasnt do to the wind or any other natural thing.

- One winter day the owner was in cleaning and he kept hearing what sounded like snow balls being thrown at the back wall. Eventually he went outside and there was not one foot print in the fresh snow anywhere around the building.

- One night I came back from break to find the owner and my coworker behind the counter just staring at a half full gaterade bottle sitting upright on the ground. According to them the gaterade bottle was a feet back on the counter and then simply jumped up and landed on the ground standing up. They both stood there for an hour trying to come up with a logical explanation.

quiet! Do you smell something?

- This one time outside the office I got the STRONGEST smell of coffee in my nostrils. I was the only one there, the coffee pot was off (30 ft away from where I smelled coffee), and hadnt been on in days. A few weeks later the owner told me the exact same story.

Well I guess thats it for now. There are always more stories. I will take some pics tonight and post. I'll also ask the owner or any regulars I see about their favorite stories, see if I forgot any good ones. Let me also reitterate that there are logical explainations for many ghost stories. Explainations have been searched for concerning the above events but known have been found. I think the biggest piece of verbal evidence is how many people had the same things happen to them as others and they never knew it until I linked them together. Also, like I said, nowadays not to much happens there but the place is still offsetting and strange things still happen, just not to the same degree anymore. Thanks for reading.

You mentioned the pool hall is decorated in old artifacts and "junk." Maybe there was an entity attached to something that was brought in. I have heard of this kind of thing happening although I might be wrong. Anyone care to correct me?

Yea I forgot to add that in there. We have defiently thought of this.
TIMMAH
Forgot to also mention that in the area is supposed Indian burial ground and they say, whoever they is, that is why so many places are haunted around there despite how new the housing is for the most part.

Mmm pie

Ya I just recently read somewhere that ancient native land and buriel grounds are said to be most haunted. This is an obvious fact you hear all the time, but to read it just confirmed it. Get a medium in there see what they have to say?

This is a great account Timmah, my thoughts are as follows....

The land that the building is on holds the key here, what's happened is the pool hall is housing some residual energy, sounds like it may be a mixture of residual haunting and active spirit....

You mention the known story of the young family being drowned. You've heard and experienced the emotions of a girl crying. I would say there is some lost or trouble spirits from that event. If things appeared to calm down after the bible group started then they probably acted as a comfort to them, helped them on there way so to speak original.gif I really don't think you have demons, just alot of negitive energy from some tradgic events, but that is just my opinion....

Welcome to UM Timmah, those are great stories. To your knowledge, has there ever been anyone who worked there that didn't have an unexplained experience? Wasn't there another pub that made news because when the owners called police they also witnessed flushing tiolets?

I had 10 times more experiences and they were mostly more intense. I have always been more sensitive to this stuff so I think thats why. As far as I know, the husband and wife owners, and all the employees have had ATLEAST 1 ghostly experience. Even the 2 employees that are super skeptic.

I enjoyed reading this. Well written TIMMAH.

It's hard not to believe it for me, but i guess untill i have those kinda experiences myself i'll always be a tad skeptical.

What does kinda get to me is the globe you said moved so fast it appeared as a streak. I've witnessed this myself, just after i heard a sound and looked in the direction of the sound i witnessed it go from floor to ceiling.

I discarded it as my eyes beein tired though. But who knows.

I hope you catch some wicked things on the pictures. Good luck grin2.gif

Oh btw your story had me so interested, that i decided to google "haunted pool hall" in the dark last night, and just as i did i heard a weird sound lol so i decided not to haha.

Mmk I have a question. Why is it that spirits which travel right out of our bodies so to speak, go several different routes? I understand that theres the myth of bad vs. good so on and so forth, but whats with spirits becoming ghosts, and getting stuck here. What happens when they get stuck why are they stuck, and is the only way they can go to "the light" if people meditate and invision the light for them, and guide them there? All I've seen now about why ghosts are still here is because they are stuck. So my question is first and foremost, why?
Lady_Anvilabeel
Not all are stuck, some come to visit. There could be many reasons why one would be stuck - unfinnished buisness, fear of crossingover, confusion/lost, or just choosing to remain in the physical world.

A medium can help them cross over by being in touch with the spirit realm and showing them the way (light) to go.

Where something highly emotive or tradgic happened and has imprinted as residual energy, the spirit and ghost is seperate. They may remain together or seperatley, the spirit may cross over and be long gone but the ghost remains....

Raising this thread from the dead but if anyone wants to see what the pool hall looked like there are a bunch of pics on my myspace..

This sounds very similar to a club where I live. It's called Mac's Bad Art Bar. It's been around for quite a while under different owners and has quite a history for many drunken fights and a few fatal stabbings waaay back in the day. I've been in there many times after hours and have seen blurs of people walking past when there was nobody in the bar but the barmaid and myself.
Like your pool hall, the women's bathroom has the strangest feeling in there, very cold to the soul.
There is also a backroom full of old cash registers, an old safe and lumber that really gives me the creeps.

Kinda makes me wonder if spirits can still have addictions such as frequenting a bar.
