If anyone wants to, i'd sure like some feedback on my song.

It's far from proffesional or perfect, so it's not gonna stomp my heart to hear what you have to say. I'd just love some feedback and thoughts on it so that it can help me get other perspectives.

My idea is to create a type of philosofical music, blending together many genres and moods.

The guitar and vocals we're recorded through a chat headset, so that certainly draws the quality down. I then just added some synth, filters and synthetic drums.

I'm not a pro singer or anything (as you can hear) but i'm trying to teach myself the ways. I have to add that i didnt really warm up before this bit and it makes it sound a bit stressing in the highnotes. Whatever.

Well... Any feedback would be apreciated. Thx for taking the time if you do.

Ykaedhi,

I enjoyed your song. thumbsup.gif The intro reminded me of the sound made by a finger revolving around the moistened rim of a wine glass... Haunting. Your title of "Forever" is well illustrated musically in the swirling background effects present throughout. Somehow you managed to combine the pain and struggle in your vocals with what struck me as island-style guitar. The light and dark elements blended well in my opinion.

Thanks alot Frank for taking the time and the positive feedback.

Nothing bad to say at all or you thought could make it more interesting.

( I got plans for a middle 8 in it, rewriting the lyrics a tad and rerecording vocal and guitar with better gear )

But again thanks for the positive feedback.

Everyone is welcome to give their comments do NOT be affraid i can take the pain grin2.gif

It's unlike any other music in the electronic / techno genre that I've heard. On that basis, it's difficult to make any recommendations on matters of style. As I see it, you've created the musical equivalent of an abstract painting.

I didn't detect any dissonance, and there were only one or two points where dynamics might need adjusting. Since I have a dial-up Internet connection, I heard the song in fragments only. Do you know if there's a way to replay it in its entirety without buffering the second time around?

Awesome!

You seem to understand exactly what my idea with the song was.

Abstract, philosofical music that would be hard to categorize as a genre, but still be pleasent and relaxing in a way to listen to.

Mixing something, haunting, old, dusty but also beautyful and nostalgic. I hope to have someone playing the flute to help me soon.

I've made it available for download so you can just press on the download link and listen to it. original.gif

I'd have to agree with F.B. here. I listened to the whole thing which means I found it interesting enough...any timing issues between the acoustic and beat (whether accidental or on purpose) seem to work for the overall texture you were going after. It has an ethereal feel to it, an intimate quality to it. Good job, keep up the experimenting. thumbsup.gif

I'm still waiting for someone to bash it , because trust me i bash it myself and has planned alot of tweaks for it.

But so far it looks like i'm my own worst critic tongue.gif

That is usually the case. I do a lot of multi-track recording, editing, and mixing, and I am an avid tweaker. geek.gif Sometimes you just have to let go and accept a song for what it is, because often times you can over-tweak something and lose that special quality that was initially captured early on. Find that special quality in each song and don't lose it, work around it and embellish it. Also, you have to disconnect yourself from the song and temporarily become an outside listener, not looking at the technicality of the song necessarily, but rather the feel of it. There are ways of accomplishing this, each has their own way wink2.gif . Maybe I will post some of my music one day, I choose not to now for various reasons but eventually I will. original.gif
Good luck Ykaedhi Aewee. thumbsup.gif
