There's been quite a backlash today against the creepy new stalkerish additions to Facebook. Every action you take on there now is catalogued and broadcast to everyone you know in a "newsfeed." I've yet to see a positive reaction to the new setup so I'm curious: anyone like it? Or, for that matter, do any college-goers here even use it?

This is about all I've heard about at Purdue for the last week..
Frankly; they can't publish it unless you put it on there. If you really want privacy, don't splay it all over the Net..Problem solved..

When MSN was all the internet rage users had some of the same problems.

Compare it to buying a model car that's brand new; be prepared for glitches.

Rules for newer internet community sites;
1. don't enter any more information than necessary (red asterisk prompt)
2. don't expect any information to be private (because it won't be private no matter what the site says)
3. Take action immediatly if you fear you personal information is in danger. Usually a link will be provided.

Things to remember;
1. If your personal photo is published then it is public.
2. If you post and publish your address, phone number ect.... This information will be public and anyone can get it if they have the means.
3. If you post your personal email address then be prepared for spam. These sites make money by selling you email to sponsors. Get used to it or fix it.
