THE world has been watching in awe this week — as the Northern Lights put on a spectacular night-time show.
The Lights — usually confined to high northern latitudes — were seen as far south as Japan and even Texas.

The northern lights - or aurora - as it’s know, has always interested me. Of course the Northern lights are famous, but there’s also the Aurora Australis, that can be just as spectacular!
The National Geographic, published an interesting article about this subject. In the November 2001 edition - (the Russia – ten years later, edition). Which can be viewed on their website.
