The town's landmark (or emblem? sorry I don´t know the correct word)
of my city - Kassel - is the "Herkules".

Here are some pictures of it.

In the front of this picture is the "Löwenburg" (in english ~lioncastle)
The building on the top of the mountain is the "Herkules".

Every night it´s lighted so I can see it from my house!

At one night (maybe 3 years ago) a friend of me was at my home.
My friend have had the idea, that we can go to the Herkules in the night.
But not the normally way! We went through the forrest!
So we have take a flashlight and a camera and started to go to the Herkules.

When we was in the forrest, we lost the orientation! And after one hour the battery of the flashlight gets empty. We didn´t see anything!!! The only light we have, was the flashlight of the camera. So we must very often take pictures to see something *lol*. After 3 hours, we found the Herkules^^. The time in the forrest (in totally darkness) was the creepiest (haunted?) time of my life^^

Here are some of this photos:

We didn´t see anything!

In english this means: "Devilswall"

And then we chilled on the Herkules, drank some beer and we was totally bushed^^

(Sorry....my english isn´t good^^ I understand it very good, but in speaking or writing I´m a noob^^ I hope you can understand me^^)

So my most haunted place is the forest near the Herkules!!!
Bella-Angelique
OH MY GOD!

That is one of the most beautiful scenes I have ever taken in in my entire life!

There just has to be some fantastic ghostly story connected to an area that beautiful.

Who lived in that Kassel and in The Lion Castle?
In general here in the USA about all we know about Hessians is that they came over here in the early years to kick our butts around for awhile.

A Hessian is in one of our best and oldest ghost stories though, The Legend of Sleepy Hallow.
Have you seen the movie? It has Christopher Walken playing the Hessian.
Forgive me if you think this is insulting as I can assure we do not think they really filed their teeth into points.

I still find many mistakes in my article!

And every time I edit it, there comes a new problem!
(for example i can´t see some of the pics!")

Do you see all pics now?

Can you understand me? Did I have many mistakes?
Bella-Angelique
Yes, we can see most of the picks quite clearly, even the darker ones.

Devil's Wall is an interesting name.
Know where it sprang from?

Mmmmhhhh...I didn´t know many about the Löwenburg.

It was building 1739, centuries after the prime time of building castles in Germany.

Builder of the "Löwenburg" was landgrave Wilhelm IX.

In the year 1821 he was bury in a crypt under the chapel.

I try to get more informations about the Herkules and the Löwenburg.

*lol* No. Kassel is the name of my city, where the Lion Castle and the Herkules are standing^^
Kassel is the City (200.000 inhabitants)
and Hessen is the federal state.(6.084.700 inhabitants)

Now THAT is a beautiful sight............Welcome to UM!!!!!

I am from the state of Georgia and our capitol is Atlanta. The Atlanta metro area is now spreading out so much that it takes up about one half of the state.
Here in the USA though, it is not like in Germany where people are all pretty much lumped together as belonging to a city or being rural people. That would not be a good gage to go by. We move around too often for that to apply or mean anything much here.

However, I am descended from Native Americans and European Virginian colonists, from a town named Jamestown.

-----------------------------------------------------------------

Here is a picture of what we call Hessians from our early history.
They fought us here for England in the Revolutionary War.

Here is the movie based upon one of the oldest ghost stories of the United States and that has a Hessian in it.

As we play in the next match against Italy in the semifinal and they beated us in the last 2 minutes, whole germany was very broken-hearted. Everywhere are crying people. At the next day, nobody talk.

But as we playing about the third place against Portugal and we defeated them, whole Germany starts a big party and all people are happy. bounce.gif clap.gif bounce.gif

Hallo frogfish original.gif

Mir geht es gut. Und dir?

Wo hast du deutsch gelernt? In der Schule oder privat?
Warum bist du auf der Reise? Geschäftlich oder privat?

Du kannst schon sehr gut deutsch! Hast nur ein paar kleine Fehler gemacht.

________________________________________________________________

Frankfort = Frankfurt
India = Indien

"Die Alpen was sehr ziemelich."
This sentence is wrong. It makes no sense....

Maybe you mean:

Die Alpen waren wunderschön.
