I recently downloaded something from a friend which was in MDF format. How do I open it? It just comes up saying its an unknown file format and I can choose a program to open it with. How do I open it, does it require another program?

Yes, as PK pointed out it's an Alcohol 120% file, which means you'll need Alcohol 120% to access the contents of the image, either by mounting it to a virtual drive or by burning it to a physical disk.

Considering you're downloading a disk image, I think you know where to get Alcohol 120%.

Problem solved, I downloaded ISO buster which can open mdf files, thanks for the help though PK and AC
