I know that Americans don't like to stoop down to the level of the terrorists, but in my opinion the only thing that is going to deter these people is a taste of their own medicine. This will never happen but I think convicted terrorists should be kept alive and tortured just like all of their victims. It makes me mad that people protest the "mal treatment" of captured terrorists while trying to obtain information. Blasting the RedHot Chillipeppers into a cold room sounds like a cake-walk compared to the methods of these militant madmen.
There is no reasoning with these people, they want to see you and your children burned alive, nothing less. Mark my words, one more 9-11 type incident and people are going are changing their tune real quick. It's going to come down to us or them, something's got to give.

I dont really agree with torturing prisoners because you've gotta think " what if that was me ? ". And you cant torture the prisoners who are there because they were defending their country. But for the more hardcore prisoners, like the terrorist leaders and high ranking militia, id just lock them in a pitch black, small cell for the rest of their lives. They deserve no more than that.

You'd even have objections to that from some of the Liberals here. As far as "what if that was me?": I wouldn't be out trying to burn the infidels alive. If I did, than torture would be exactly what I deserve.

Terrorists, like certain types of serial killers deserve similair types of treatement - of course. There are hardened very sick demented people who can take it to a certain level, that may not have political significance what so ever - although. Maybe that sounds unfortuneate that this happens because it is the law people must abide by, which is to give certain prisoners an equal and fair treatment as far as it is in terrorist supspects, but it happens. There are people who are convicted terrorists, and those that are suspected terrorists that are caught and imprisoned. The suspects are interrogated, so as to find other terrorists on the outside in the sleeper cells.

What we do as law abiding citizens is not stoop to a level that we juggle the differences between one concept of "no negtiations" with terrorists, and the other with interrogation efforts to find those same "free terrorsts" roaming around causing chaos.

Imagine what woul'd happen if the U.S. were to stop going internationally to some of these arabic countries, and protecting people and fighting insurgents, and terrorists. Woul'd things be different? Woul'd the actions of terrorists be any different than any serial killer as it is anyway?

That is what I question. You take one terrorist driven by some religious/ political fanaticism and you have no comparison to some serial killer out there, so do you have any real difference in any one individual terror suspect and how they really shoul'd be treated?

Colin Powell doesn't agree with torturing prisoners but George Dubya thinks we should. I do have mixed feelings about it. I do however think that important leaders of a terrorist group should be tortured. Who knows what they are planning.

yeah thats what i mean...i dont care about what happens to the top terrorist leaders, but all the normal taliban and other terrorist group soldiers are pretty much just protecting their countrys and because they are with a certain group they are pronounced terrorists. I mean sh*t if someone invaded australia, and the whole australian defence force was destoryed, id join other armed groups to protect it....

What about all of the Nazi foot-soldiers who murdered innocent people in the name of their leadorship group, should they have all been excused for their actions? People know what's right and wrong and using religion and patriotism to justify brutal merciless acts is unacceptable.

Funny you should say that. I was thinking today us americans should have hijacked a plane en route to Saudia Arabia and rammed into the anti-american conference that the leaders of Iran, N.Korea, Venezuala, and Cuba were having. JUST KIDDING !!. But a taste of their own medicine woudnt hurt.

The sad thing is that the Middle East was once the cultural center of the world until Islam took over. It is a stagnating influence. You can't build a culture around intolerance and hatred for everyone who isn't exactly the same as you are.
Every day, Moslem children go to school singing songs how GOD only loves the moslems and the Jews are dogs. Their newspapers are filled with cartoons making fun of JESUS and MOSES, but no one had better dare make fun of Mohammed or they'll have to die.
The movie Obsession shows a seven year old moslem girl telling the reporter how she wanted George Bush to die in flames and wanted to shoot the Prime Minister of Israel and stab him in the heart with a sword. These people are taught nothing but hatred and how to kill from the time they're old enough to walk. How can you reason with someone who only wants to kill you?

The same way you reason with a lion coming at you at a dead run..........between the eyes
