I thought this was going to be an easy game.. Damn am I struggling, great graphics and it will probably be a great game when I get the hang of it, there seems to be several ways to play it.. I think I should have sat in a cupboard instead of trying to take on the thousands of Zombies.. however it is great when you get behind the wheels of car.
Anybody else playing this one?

I've only got as far as playing the downloadable demo, which I did really enjoy. (Made a thread about it
here).
I can't wait to get the full version though, I just need to wait for it to come down in price a bit before I can afford it.

I agree with you when you said "they created a similar atmosphere to that of the original Dawn of the Dead"
The problem I have found is you can only save you progress in public WC cubicles or a couch where you start the game near the roof.. and that roof is a long way away in fact it is like real life.. public toilets are also few and far between.
I was in a shop and had the option of changing my clothes and was looking at the racks, I heard something (as you do through the whole game).. I had my back to the window of the shop.. nothing was there, a few minutes later I heard grunts and scratching again.. low and behold there were hundreds of the damn things at the window.
I ran towards the shop counter to think about which direction I would move to next.. the damn things can climb over the counter, all I had to hit them with was the shop till.. and that smashed to bits after killing about 20/30 of them.
Needless to say they got me, I had to start again at my last save point an hour previous... because I had not found and saved at a public toilet.

I've had the game for a while and beaten the regular game and overtime mode and i think it's one of the best games ever
Spoilers select the text below to read
I really like how you have to collect the bombs to stop the mall from blowing up. I also liked how the guy in the helicopter is killed by that zombie. I think that the hardest part was beating the leader of the special forces, because of the tank he's driving.
all in all it's a great game.

Heh, something similar happened to me.

I've heard a few people complaining about the save system now, hopefully that won't effect the genera gameplay too much.
What are the missions like? Do they add an in-depth story to the game?

the missions are the story line of the game if you fail a mission you can't finnish the story of the game. The missions are mainly getting things and helping people.

I rented it a while back and found that it was hard untill you actually level up a bit.
The games awesome and their are so many weapons you can use against the zombies, some are hidden very well. I personely loved useing the samuri sword, cuts through groups like butter!

Finally got this game. I'm only on day 2 so far, I think I would have got further already but I kept dying and having to start from the beginning all over again a good few times, until I got used to the save system and figured out how to load properly.

Apart from that, it's completely awesome. I've been struggling trying to kill those 3 guys in the jeep, though. I killed them once and then they just respawned again. Now I've got to try and escort some survivors and kill those guys again. It's definetely a lot harder than I expected it to be.

How did you manage to kill those guys in the jeep?
I eventually managed to get to the gun shop... only to be killed by some guy in their.. he shop me. I stocked up with swords in the cutlery shop next door to the supermarket, went into the supermarket, which is crammed from floor to ceiling with Zombies, I thrashed my way through one of the isles killing all on the aisle and then ate food from the shelves to get my life by up to max.
There is a nice little corridor that takes you more or less to the gun shop, this enables you to avoid the Zombies in the shopping Mall.

First make sure you have some handguns, if you don't you can quickly get some by killing the zombie cops inside the doors between the Leisure Park and Paradise Plaza, and stock up on wine from the food court.
Then go out in to the Leisure Park and wait for them to come and chase you, run around any big tree you can find until they crash in to it, then you can start taking headshots at the gunner while hiding behind the tree for cover when you need to. Once you've killed the guy with the gun it's pretty easy.
It's kinda pointless seeing as they just revive again the next time you enter the park, but you can get in their jeep and really start killing zombies.

I haven't had time to explore the mall yet, I keep getting sidetracked by all of these scoop missions.

Excellent and thanks... I have tried shooting the guys in the Jeep, the trouble is the Zombies always catch up to me while I am focusing on the jeep.
I know what you mean about it being pointless.. I got a car and went into the underground service type tunnel, mowing down the Zombies was the best.... but at the end of the tunnel I got out to investigate a door leading to another room and when I went back through the door to return to my car... IT HAD GONE? and Zombies everywhere, needless to say... I died.

It's actually the size of the writing when you get a call from the radio that Subby was referring to...it's TINY ! is there any way that we haven't found to make it bigger? I'm sick of squinting to see what the next scoop is.

I suppose the tiny writing is for HD tvs. I have a 40' tv so i'm squinting all the time. The game is great though, i'm glad I bought it. The only problem is, my first time through, I had gotten pretty far; (Killed the guy in the gun shop, covered almost all of the scoops, got the guys in the courtyard ect...) and the game for SOME reason, remembered the time I had left to get to the helipad, but everything I accomplished got erased. I went to load the game and it still said I had 20 hours left but everything in the game I did (except for scoops) returned back. Like the guy in the gun shop; alive and well and still wants to kill me.....

I've just spent a while going Rambo through the mall. Picking up survivor after survivor and escorting them through hordes of zombies,
so much fun. I love getting to be a hero.

As you get further in to the game you find out that the zombies became zombified by parasitic 'Queen' wasps.
Every now and then you'll come across a zombie who's standing still and waving their hands around, it looks like they're trying to slap themselves around the face. If you kill them, they'll drop a Queen which you can pick up and use, basically it just kills all zombies within around a 10ft radius.
They're quite easy to get, really useful aswell.
