What is it like to feel a mother's sorrow
Laboring like there's no tomorrow
Yet all she wants is to raise her child
Whose mother's hand he had never held

What is it like to feel a father's sorrow
Living with a child he had never known
Yet still with a caring heart he shows his love
While watching how fast his boy has grown

Then comes the day when they must part
But not a word the child said from his wretched heart
Trudging through the forest he makes no sound
And so he vanished never again to be found
