Okay.. I'm from Singapore, buddhist. I've this problem during the age of 2+. My mother told me that when I was 2, I would cry whenever the clock struck 12 (approximate) in the midnight. Well, I'm afraid of my past now.. Does anyone got the same problem as me? The problem was solved after my parents took me to see a high priest at the temple.

I've asked my mum how does that happen but she deosn't want to tell me.. Was there something big that my parents' hiding from me? Or is it just, my mum is lying. (P.S : I remembered that incident very clearly, so impossible to be a lie, eh?)

Firstly, if your mother knows and she won't tell you, and she is aware that you are in distress - I would say either she geniunely doesnt want you to know because it would distress you, or she is oblivious to your unrest and therefore quite ignorant. No offence.

I would like to ask you, if she quite superstitious/old fashioned? It could be she reads more into this event than you would if given facts. Maybe you related an event in your 2 year old mind to the clock striking 12 subconsciously, and therefore cried each night.
Brings me to wonder, could they not get a clock that didnt chime?
Also, to take you to a priest would mean they were scared by this. Hmmm sorry i'm thinking this through as I type (typical female tongue.gif) Yep superstition i would bet.
As an esotericist I see no malicious connotation with the clock striking 12 and a baby crying.

Did you , in fact, cried when the clock struck 12? If so, for how many days/weeks?

Welcome to UM! My dad lives in Singapore too, hopefully I can get a job there soon so I can move there! I LOVE that place, its beautiful:-D

Welcome to UM! I don't know how long ago this has been. Are you afraid that whatever it was that made you cry will come back to bother you again? Is that what you mean about being afraid of your past? If you haven't been bothered for a long time with it then try to take comfort that whatever it was has been lovingly taking care of. Don't know why your mother won't confide in you what went on. Maybe in time she will.

Thanks for the warm welcome, I've been bothered these days because whenever the clock turn 12 (approximately), i heard marbles sound from my celling. I was alone at that time. When my parents were at home they wont be any marblish sound. I'm pretty afraid. ><.

Maybe time can solve my problem.

Maybe your clock is broken?

well said roger, ill add that the clock might have woke you therefore youll cry ,..and if there was a event at the same time , like the sound of something on the ceiling , there might have been something else going on that is been kept a secret or something one is regretting or supressing probably something not one wants to talk about. so i wouldnt read into so much or you will have real problems and probably drive yourself crazy.
and who wants that,.keep a open ear out or eye out though lightly and awareness of things in history about that house people involves there at the time u were two etc,. you might just come up with why things came into play for your past the way they did. its probably nothing,. besides whats involved with the budda culture , that might have alot to do with why ur mom doesnt want to talk about it or some other more simpler traditional thing as to why you have these questions. i see nothing realy except unanswered question of something that could have a thousand of normal events that could have taken place at the time of this occuring
dont sweat the small stuff because when u think about "its all small stuff"

and theres nothing to fear but fear itself, the brain is most powerful so dont project what you dont know for fact.
its all good.

hi. so how old are you now?
i think if you're really bothered by this matter, can try pestering your mum till she surrenders and tell you the truth about whatever she is hiding. or maybe she doesn't find it a big deal and thus the lack of explanation.
anyway, did your clock(when you were 2) made any sounds when it turned 12am? as in did it really chime or just silently turn 12 haha, get what i mean right.
the part about marbles, i have a friend who heard it sometimes too, at night, but i dont know what is the cause behind.

Hello, welcome to UM original.gif

Was the clock one of those clocks (I think they're called 'kuku' clocks or something) that would make noises at 12? If so, you might've cried because of the strange noise...no surprise for a two year old. What exactly did the priest do to you to solve the problem?
We've all had our little scares as a child. I believe mine personally were these toys that were shaped as large balls and would rumble when you pressed a button...scariest thing in the world. I still won't go near them. Perhaps it's just with you and a clock at 12:00? Not sure...

Anyways, hope you find out the problem. thumbsup.gif

Babies wake up and cry, yes, and at midnight, hmm, no particular cause i can think of at the moment... But I think its just growing up... I just dont specialize in sleep disorders/childhood stuff... sadly...

A baby crying at midnight and remembering it when she or he was 2 at the time?
What did you have for breakfast the next day?
