Hello, this is my first ever post here. original.gif
I just wanted to share with you some 'interesting' stories that have happened here in our home.

Firstly, an introduction.
I'm currently 30, my wife Olivia is 28, and we have 3 little girls, Sarah 6, Emily 4 & Sophie almost 1.

Not long after we moved from our small rental townhouse into our current 5 bedroom lowset house, our daughter Sarah became extremly restless at night. This was about 2001/2, as Emily was not born yet. Anyway, this continued for quite a few weeks if not months. And it steadily got worse. She would be screaming in her bedroom for pretty much most of the night. (I'd lay with her, get her to sleep, and about 15 - 30 mins later, she wakes up crying.) I'd taken her to hospital a few times, as being new parents, it was quite concerning for us. But always, she was fine. One day, over dinner, my wife asked her (again) what was upsetting her at night time. To our surprise, and shock, she said that there was 'something' in her room with red eyes. She was already at kindy, and knew her colors well. She also described it as having black skin. My wife, a firm believer of the supernatural, immediately called on a friend of the family who was a practising psychic, or something like that. (You'll have to forgive me here, i'm not really up-to-date on all of these things!) Anyway, this lady has been tasked in removing unwanted spirits from dwellings in the past so i said "why not". However, before she began, i was asked to leave the premises, as i was, quote, "an unbeliever". Something to do with negative energy, or something like that. I returned about an hour later, and everything was as it was when i had left. The real test would be that night. To our complete and utter amazement, Sarah slept the entire night, not waking up even once!

Time passed. Not long after my 2nd daughter was born, my wifes sister Tracey moved in with us. (yay... hmm.gif ) She had moved into Sarahs old room, and Sarah had moved into another room. One night, Tracey came out into the longe room, as i was watching tv. She said, "ha ha, very funny". Not knowing what she was talking about, i asked her what the problem was. She said that i had taken my little red lamp, which i do have, and placed it under her bed. "What makes you say that?" i asked her. "Because there is a red light coming from under it!" was her reply. We both got up and walked down to her room. There was no light. Now she had only just moments ago, walked from her room, claiming the red light was shining from underneath her room. Now it was gone. She looked under the bed... nothing was there. I showed her the lamp, in a cupboard in another bedroom, and the bulb was stone cold. She was completely freaked out by this, and after a night of zero sleep, asked to move into another bedroom. (yay again!)

Suffice to say, i was never a witness to any of the occurrences which took place. It was always my wife or Sarah. Emily has never complained or even mentioned anything. My wife is very spiritual, going for readings, praying to angels and stuff. I'm told that i don't 'see' these things because of my doubtful nature. All i need is proof. How hard is that?

Alas, one night... not too long ago. I was playing my usual online multiplayer game, complete with headset, so not to wake my wife up with constant machine gun fire. wink2.gif A round had just finished, and the next stage was loading. During this time, i could hear, over my headset, a very loud breathing or perhaps snoring. I thought it was initally strange, as my wife is never usually that load. I continued with the game, and after that particular level, decided i'd go get a drink. I took off my headset, and was about to get up when i noticed the breathing again. This time, without the headset on, which was muffling the sound, i realized the breathing was directly behind me. There was no mistaking it. My eyes watered, the hairs on my arm stood to attention. I was totally freaked. I dared not turn around, in fact i couldn't. All i could do was quickly turn off the computer and jump straight into bed. Thus, the skeptic, is now a firm believer.

My wife does not think that this is the same presence as before. The original one she knew to be malevolent, but not the other(s). I honestly cannot comment on any of the other sightings. My wife has seen shadows move, when there couldn't be. She has seen light shining from under doors, when there couldn't be. So who know? But i've had my single (and thankfully brief!) brush with something... that i cannot explain.

Hope i havn't bored you. Cheers everyone! thumbsup.gif
Regards,

Cool stories! Have you or your wife done any kind of investigation concerning these events? Like the history of the house or town?
Welcome to the UM forum!!! thumbsup.gif

Well, the house was quite new, built in 1998, and we moved in late 2000. I've lived locally in the area for practically my entire life, and have never heard of any story that could be connected to the occourences. My wife thinks that whatever it was, was brought here by her sister that moved in. She had been spending alot of time here, before she officially moved in, and had admitted to participating in some kind of séance party with some of her friends. You know, the usual things teenage girls get up to! wacko.gif

I've never seen, (or heard) anything ever again. My wifes seen things out of the corner of her eye, and stuff around the house (always her!) goes missing, but later reappears... in the exact spot she searched before. During the nights of the 'incidents' i took our digital camera, and just snapped every part of the house in the hope of capturing something. But i never did. It was just very weird.

Bring back the psychic lady for another round.
Cold.
Umm, sure, you enjoy talking about these stories. You're scared, but yet you haven't really made any attempt to contact this spirit. I suggest trying to get into communications with it, and find out what it really wants.

Then you can go from there.

Hi candiman and welcome to UM!

I enjoy hearing the skeptic turned believer stories original.gif your experiences are interesting!

The house I grew up in was haunted (early 1900's ). We had 3 active spirits...The most impressive experience was seeing the young victorian lady in a grey velvet dress. I found out when older from the previous owners that they had seen her as well during there time in the house. I could be here all night telling accounts of that house. Another fav was a car my Dad had, one of the resident spirits took a real liking to it lol, every SINGLE morning we would find the passenger seat fully rolled back, we could never figure it out and had the seat tested for obvious saftey reaons - no faults ever found....

Hi Candyman!
Terrific story mate! - I'm a 'sceptic' (of sorts) and after reading what the Psychic has to say about unbelievers and your experiences - I'm staying a sceptic!! grin2.gif Welcome to UM thumbsup.gif

Well, to be honest, i don't talk about this to anyone. (Apart from family.)
I stumbled onto this site yesterday, and thought i'd share my/our experiences with some people who may have had similar ones themselves.

And as for trying to contact the spirit... forget it! no.gif The psychic lady has moved away..
Last night my wife said she still sees things, but just doesn't tell me about it. It's nothing serious she says. So that's ok with me. But i digress... anything even remotely 'Amityville', and i'm out of here!

Well, i certainly don't appreciate all the sleepless nights with my daughter if it was.
Practical Joke = angry.gif "I am not amused"
Dodir_Svile
well, maybe it's not a joke, but i hate it when people say "well, you don't understand it/can't see it because you're obviously not a believer" hmm.gif maybe it's just your wife being too into paranormal. i know a bunch of people who are.
