The UM chat has worked for me and I've never had problems until last night. Now whenever I try to go into chat the Java screen comes up and loads, but never actually enters chat. I've updated Java and made sure the firewall was letting it through, but I still can't get it to work.
Any suggestions?

I'm not smert, but maybe clear your temp internet files and cache?? Maybe that will help. Hope so..

I haven't been there for a while, so I decided to try it from reading your post. I got in just fine but I noticed there's a topic posted in it now, a new feature I suppose.

If your java is freezing, it is a good idea to empty your temp internet files. I've had that problem with java and flash, that just seems to freeze in the same spot, no matter how many times I try to refresh or try laters. Seems my PC likes to remember stuff by using the temp internet files and so always freezes at the same spot. Emptying my temp internet folder has always solved this problem for me so far.

to empty: click on the tool option on the top of your screen tnen click internet options and delete files delete cookies and if you want you can delete history that should help....I think cause I ain't 2 bright neather

Well, I'm stumped! Since you have the latest Java, it should work. But alas, your PC wants to act like it doesn't want to help. Is this the only problem you're having with PC or are there perhaps other little quirks happening as well? It doesn't have to be related, but sometimes if C starts acting weird with little things here and there, it could be a sign that something is wrong with windows or your PC is a bit knackered.

I actually got it to work for a little while last night, and I thought the problem was fixed, but when I tried this morning it was screwy again.
Other than this, there aren't many other problems. Only that when I go to empty the Recycling Bin, it sometimes freezes. This one has me very bumfuzzled!

This is something you can try if you do not have any.

Try using firefox, the Microsoft Java interpriter sucks.

I am completely ignorant to anything computer-like. I use terms like what-cha-ma-call-it and thingy-ma-bob. With that being said, what's Firefox and how do I get it?
