Well I didn't find a topic about this game. Either there isn't one or my search skills suck.


Anyway this is a great game. Yea it's been out for a while but the game is just incredible. Now I don't have it, but my brother in law does, so I would always come over and play it. Since I just ordered a new computer, I'm pretty sure I will get the game and end playing 20 hours a day.....a lot of it being online.

The game is just fun. The story is pretty creepy and the gameplay is just very well made. The A.I is much better.....and much more fun to go against.


Anyway what are your thoughts on the game?

I can't wait to get this for the 360, I've been looking forward to it for a long time!

what consoles is it on.My pc is'nt the greatest for games.BTW it does look awesome!

F.E.A.R. is *probably* the best FPS game currently on the market. The only thing it lags [besides the framerate] is a decent physics engine, even though it has awesome ragdoll physics. Better graphics than FarCry, better AI than anything else I've found.

Anybody else think the shadowing just gets a little bit too dark in some areas?

That's usually when you know something is going to pop out. lol.
I heard the watchers scared a lot of people. I never got up to that part so I don't know.

The game was made using the Half life 2 engine which was famous for it's physics. I actually thought it had better physics then Doom 3 and Quake 4. The textures were amazing and the game has really nice shaders.

F.E.A.R was designed to be a dark gritty game and the dark areas are nice. If it gets dark and you can't see use the flashlight that will fix that problem if it's a problem.

My only problem with this game is the fact you can only carry 3 guns at a time.

The game has great physics, particle effects, textures, shaders and detail. Definatly one of the best FPS games on the market.

Doom 3 is a horrible game.


Don't know where you the information about it using the HL2 engine, it's engine s***s on half life 2's engine. [and i like hl2]

How? My brother in law has it and he really enjoys it too. Not as much as Half Life 2 though.

I haven't seen alot of F.E.A.R, just that it supposidly kicks ass, Whats the story behind it?

FEAR definatly is an amzing acomplishment by seirra.
The AI is spectacular(on the harder modes, the easy mode lacks an AI precision)
The graphics are phenomnal, as seen with the slow-mo explosions(although Blacks explosions are the best to date) and the incredible horror style freak outs.

You need a pretty strong PC to play this.
512 mb RAM minimum
and at least a 128mb video card.

Only thing about the game I didn't like is that there wasn;t enough scare moments for me, although the ones that were there are amazing.

And to those who have beat the game the climactic ending is unbelievable I don't want to spoil it for anyone but lets just say KABOOM.

The expansion comes out very soon, i will be picking it up, it carries on right from where the first left off.
I've played the demo already and you ca expect some intense new weapons like the minigun, a improved rocket launcher(heat seekers) and a much improved photon cannon thing.

When is this coming out? I'm should get that rather than the original one.

And will the original story be there as well?

You need the original in order to play the expansion.
The story carries off right from where the frist left off, you'd be completely lost if you didn;t play the first.
Plus it's just worth the gaming experience.

Yeah i love online, it kicks ass.
But there are rarely n00bs online.

Are there a lot of people online? Because the game is a year old and people might have moved on.

Oh no there are tons of rooms to play in.
Up to 16 players per map although i think there are sometimes 24 depending on size, very fast paced shooter action.
And every once in a while if your luck.... or unlucky you will see Alma(the little girl) in multiplayer and she kills everything on the map, it scares the hell out of you.
I've even seen two of her at the same time.

Wow are you serious? My brother in law has never mentioned that happening in online play. Does it happen on certain levels or just plain random.

Well i;ve seen her mostly on the assylum level.
But i'm pretty sure it's 100% random

Now I am getting my new computer tomorrow, and thought of about picking of some first person shooter games during the next two weeks (besides F.E.A.R). Have any suggestions for games?

if you don't have half life 2 then i would get that along with HL2 episode one.

best single game shooting game i ever played. played for 3 days straight like 8 hrs+ a day and finished it the atmosphere it gives is awesome. CRAZI GAME i havn't played online yet

Mmm... the best PC shooters I've played recently are Half-Life 2, The Chronicles of Riddick: Scape from Butcher Bay and Prey.

Now, about F.E.A.R.... I love it There are few things as satisfying as closing in to a guy (in slow-mo of course), stick a shotgun an inch from his face and firing, only to find that all that's left from the guy is just one arm . And as for Alma... the moment that scared me was in the second stage, where you see her the first time and as she's getting closer to you everything bursts in flames and you gotta jump outta the window to save yourself. Sweet!
