Yes. Dust and other airborne particles.

I didn't vote because orbs are a catch all term for what they are known as in appearing in photos.
They could be dust, light or energy - that's down the interpretation....

I agree. I did not vote because this is a wide range subject. Dust is picked up as orbs as well as many other things. You can google orbs and clearly see they are made by airborne particles. You do not need a poll to tell you otherwise.

These should be the poll answers:
1. All orbs are paranormal
2. All orbs are dust
3. Most orbs are paranormal, some are dust
4. Most orbs are dust, some are paranormal
NoahJaymes

Even that is too vague...
1. Orbs are Paranormal
2. Orbs are airborne particles IE(dust, moisture, insects)
3. Most orbs are paranormal, some are air particles
4. Most Orbs are Air Particles where as some are paranormal
5. I dont believe Orbs are Paranormal at all.

2) All Orbs are Dust
3) All Orbs are Dust

So you are saying all orbs are dust, no moisture, no insects? Not even energy? Interesting concept

Point made... remove the energy part and you are right Noah.

I voted dust, only because that is the only answer stating they're besides something paranormal. It could be a number of other things, like water droplets or light reflections. Of course, after visiting a cemetery in Athens, Ohio a couple years ago and taking pictures, I have become a bit hesitant on immediately declaring all orb photos as fake. In 99% of cases involving orb photos, they are going to be something non-paranormal. There are plenty of signs to look for as to how to determine this.

i beleive alot of orb pictures could be explained as dust, but alot of footage shows them take sharp turns in diffrent directions

Yep, how do you explain the sharp changes in direction?
And why on film do they sometimes zipp accross the screen appearing to be emitting their own light source?
Im indecisive.
Though 90% is probably dust.

Depends...sometimes if they have a background source such as IR, it will brighten up the orb. As far as orbs changing directions, a lot of things can cause this, such as AC kicking on, any sort of draft...etc

After using my digital camera for more than a year and produced more than a thousand shots without orbs in it, i wonder why the other day my camera captured an orb first time.
I don't usually pose for a pic but my daughter took a shot on me and right there in my tummy..a big orb.
I think orbs are not dust. Whatever it is, we still don't know.
It's more closer to lights refraction than dust.
Or my dad was thanking me for lighting a candle on his birthday.

I think that orbs are a combination of light, energy and dust. Just my opinion. I don't think there is anything supernatural about them. look at the Northern Lights.........pretty freaky but nothing supernatural there either.

LMAO, obviously ur math is um well, not there. so you are saying that .000000000000000000001 falls into the moisture, insect aspect....hmm interesting concept you have there killer.

Oct 2 2006, 09:29 PM
Yeah, I really doubt .000000000000000000001 percent is all moisture and insects are.... But hey, I only do this full time and all. lol.

If its moisture its pretty hard to convince yourself its an orb as its pretty obvious its moisture. Bugs might be a bit harder to tell.
I guess if you consider anything that looks like a ball in a photo an orb then yeah the percentage would be different. But thats just a stupid idea. Anything that looks like it could be paranormal activity is likely dust.
NoahJaymes
Oct 3 2006, 01:07 AM
Did I just read that correctly? A circular shape in a picture not an orb? Might wanna google the definition of orb...not trying to be a prick, just saying...

Ok, by your definition I just found a picture of an orb. Think its a ghost?

Obviously your definition of an orb as it relates to paranormal activity is plain f***ing stupid.

Well, I am very skeptical about "orb" photos. If it cant be proven a bug or moisture although it might be dust then I would consider it an orb. Bugs can be hard to tell but usually its quite clear the flash is refecting off something solid. Pretty much the only time you get moisture to look something like an orb its from rain and then they are all over the place and its clearly rain.

Enough. I have had to close three threads on this board within the last 48 hours. Anything to do with the Paranormal can be contentious and there are many opinions and theories voiced. However insults and bickering does nothing to encourage healthy debate and again it is against forum rules. If this keeps happening warnings will be issued.
