It's mad though when you think about it.
My ticket at the valley cost around £300. That doesn't even pay a days wages for most players!

Nevermind Wrighty, you could always go to a few away games, where's your nearest premiership club?
wrighty
Well Leeds aren't in it any more. I think it is actually manchester. I have seen them at the leeds stadium but unless they meat in the FA cup that can't happen anymore.
nick_fury
Further to our earlier talk about season ticket prices.

QUOTE
Adult Charlton fans can see the club's final 17 Premiership games of the season from just £325 thanks to a reduction in the price of season tickets following the sell-out against Chelsea.

The price of a guaranteed adult place at The Valley in the north stand for fixtures that include the visits of Manchester United, Arsenal and Liverpool has now been lowered by £60.

Good old Charlton, always looking out for the punters

wrighty
Manchester United defender Gabriel Heinze will miss "most of the season" with cruciate knee ligament damage.

Chelsea face Charlton Athletic, who have maximum points from their season to date, but Mourinho could not resist the opportunity to try to undermine the season's surprise packages.

"At the end of the season, you will see a difference between their power and our power," asserted Mourinho. "There will be 20, maybe 30 points between us.

"Right now, they could beat us. Why not? Anyone can beat anyone in The Premiership and, yes, Charlton could beat Chelsea.

"But at the end of the season, Chelsea will be one of the top teams in The Premiership and Charlton will be happy to be in the Uefa Cup. That will be good for them."

Mourinho also looked at the impact of The Addicks' Darren Bent who has been superb since arriving from Ipswich Town.

"Bent is a good player. I think he has shown he is a player with Premiership quality," added Mourinho.

"But I don't think a team like Chelsea, Man U or Arsenal could take a player like that and throw him in at Champions League level.

"For these medium level teams, it is an intelligent thing to sign that kind of player.

"I don't think he will score goals every week. I certainly don't think he will score 40 goals.

"But if he scores 15 times, he will have had a good season."

What? We've beaten Chelsea in 3 of our last 5 at the valley
At the moment Bent is outscoring his entire strikeforce combined.
I hope he's eating his words come 5 o'clock. Come on Charlton! Show those blue rent boys what we can do
wrighty
Yes it will be a great game.

nick_fury
Well the blue scum did us sad.gif
Not much more to say really, the ref had a howler, Duff and Robben dived every time we got a break and we're booed off the park and the chelsea gloryhunting fans got to sing smugly for the last half hour.
As the chant so aptly says 'where were you when you were s**t'
wrighty
Well Charltons 100% start ends.
United against the reds tommorow we will win.

I wouldn't put money on it.
The pool looked sound on tuesday and without Heinze your backline looks vulnerable.

Ach, football, the chess of the green field... wub.gif
My favourite teams are Helsingborgs IF from Sweden (because I was born in Helsingborg) and Juventus of Italia (because Pavel Nedved is the cutest footie player in the world and because Zlatan Ibrahimovic is Zlatan Ibrahimovic).
user posted image
(Not the best pic, but it was the only one I could find with both my favourite players in it. wink2.gif )
wrighty
David James has backed calls for England team-mate Wayne Rooney to seek help in order to curb his temper.

Liverpool v Man Utd (1200) COME ON UNITED YOU CAN DO IT.

nick_fury
Me thinks Ibrahimovic is a tad over rated wink2.gif
Can't fault Nedved though, great in Euro 2004 and one of the bext passers in the game.

Gotta say Wrighty I'm hoping you draw. A win will mean you overtake us.

It just occured to me we never posted our dream teams in this thread! We so have to do that some time
Sofia Alexandra
Ibrahimovic overrated? Maybe, but not as overrated as Beckham. tongue.gif
wrighty
Both over rated.

0-0 I can't believe it.

Dream teams. good idea. But there are too many great players out there.
Sofia Alexandra
I could make a dream team with the best looking players... yes.gif
wrighty
Do you actually like football, Or do you just like watching the players.
jasibaby

wrighty
Man United could still catch them plenty of games left.

They are on a roll but every teams roll ends somewhere e.g Arsenals ended playing United. Hopefully Chelsea will follow.
jasibaby
all ifs and butts wrighty 3rd for you behind chelsea & arsenal
wrighty
Don't make me laugh. The lowest we will come is second. Arsenal 4th or 5th.
Sofia Alexandra

I like football! When you're watching it on tv (or live, for that matter) you can't really see what the players look like anyway, 'cos thay're so far away, right? I've been a fan of Helsingborgs IF since I was born, though it wasn't until the World Cup 2002 that I got really interested in the sport in general. And that was because I caught sight of Anders Svensson and realised that there were cute guys involved.
Um... blush.gif

Newcastle won their first game of the season with goals from Alan Shearer, Michael Owen and Charles N'Zogbia.

Is that wishful thinking I detect?
The only way I can see you winning the league this decade is if you are bought out by a businessman with Abramovich type money.
Whoever you bring in they will get someone better, if you are top of the league at xmas they'll pull out all stops bring in 4 or 5 new faces and overtake you.

The money machine can't be stopped. It's up to the FA to impose some kind of restrictions on Chelsea or the league is dead
wrighty
Jason don't believe any transfer talk you hear at these stages. Too early they are all lies.
jasibaby
no not wishful thinking ballack will come on a free transfer plus casillas will as well they are wenger type signing as you know we dont spend mush on players and with the new stadium and the vlondon facter they will be comeing if wenger goes for them papers are not allways wrong
jasibaby
chelsea is built on sand and not rock like arsenal new stadium means more money when the russan goes chelsea go as well plus arsenal are only a couple of players short of beating them anyway.yes they will win the title this year but arsenal are building for the future with all the kids coming in to the first team
jasibaby

Trust me Abramovich is going nowhere. Stamford Bridge is full every saturday, they have thousands of season ticket holders and reach at least the semis of every cup going. He's getting a very fair return for his spending. Plus he's in the oil business, one which NEVER yields losses his fortune will keep growing.

QUOTE

But if you buy the players you need they will only buy more to counter.
It'll go something like this:
you buy Ballack, they buy Ronaldinho
you buy a striker, they buy Shevchenko

They cannot be destroyed unless players start to boycott them like Eto'o is

Henrik Larsson, formerly of Helsingborgs IF, born in the same city as me... happy.gif

Juventus beat Ascoli with 2 - 1, after two goals by Alessandro Del Piero. thumbsup.gif Ibrahimovic haven't scored for Juve this season. Yet.
I'm hoping that I'll get to watch Juve live next year, when I'm going to Torino for the Winter Olympics.

PS: Shevchenko's a cutie too! tongue.gif

Manchester United's Alan Smith is ready to fill the void left by Roy Keane, who is sidelined with a broken foot.

Good old Smith.

Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney is a contender for the FIFpro Young Player of the Year award, which will be announced in London on Monday.

No matter how dirty he is. He's still one hell of a player.

But ain't pretty... wink2.gif
