Might as well bring in Wayne Rooney's brother, I'm sure he'd have a better time of it.

There's no way you can defend him. There are about 9 other English strikers deserve that spot in the squad more than him and you know it

Yes, but they are just elegant whereas Crouch is 'very, very special'.
I wonder what is so special about him, his amazing inability to score goals when given the chance?

Australia face Uruguay this Sunday at around 7am eastern standard time. It will be televised live on SBS for any Aussies who are interested.
We have only narrowly missed out on the last two world cups and with Gus Hiddinck as our new coach, a full strength side and the second leg down under we may actually make it. Australia has never been more excited about Soccer!

^Tis good news for all you English fans as your soccer team won, your rugby team defeated the Aussies(groan) and you brought about a collapse in Pakistans batting line-up!
Although Uruguay beat us 1-nil thats a result we can live with as we were really only aiming for a draw or a one goal loss as no team has ever defeated Uruguay in a world cup qualifier when playing them in Uruguay. Yet we did have far more possesion of the ball and missed numeorus shots at goal.
Now we get to face them on our turf with around 83,000 screaming Aussies ready to give them hell!

As a Welshman, I show no bias against England's football team, I would love to see all home nations do well. After last nights match, which I agree was one of the best friendlies I've ever seen played, England have a good a chance as any of the favourites to win the World Cup. last nights match would have shown other countries that they are indeed a force to be reckoned with.
CONGRATULATIONS TO ALL YOU ENGLAND FANS WELL DONE!!

Well, it looks like this next World Cup will be a interesting one. IN the last 4 minutes of a frindly game, Englan better a score of 2-1 againt them to 2-3 , defeating Argentina.
That is a good sign that Englan football level is improving...maybe in the World Cup they will be whorty oponents.

The booing of the Argie national anthem was pretty shameful. It seems to have become almost a given for England nowdays. Even at the under21s on friday the French one was booed by practically 3/4 of the crowd. Although I'd be interested to know did anyone heard the Argentinian fans booin ours back?

Well it seems that the penalty that resulted in Uruguay scoring their one goal was actually supposed to be a penalty against them but as the linesman`s flag broke the umpire on the other side of the field made the call and gave it to Uruguay.
We know we can beat Uruguay down under, we have done it before, its just that this time we have to win by at least 2 goals!
