Eh, what?

Brazil are blatantly going to get to the semi's, probably win as well, I didn't make a quip.

This is assuming you were being sarcy.
Welsh Shaun
I was being sarcy, as I thought you were insinuating that it was obvious that England would be there in the semi's with them.

Don't underestimate Croatia, they're friggin' good!

Lol we are quite aware of that. The Aussie side has a number of players(there were 8 in the 23-man squad that defeated Uruguay) with Croatian heritage, while the Croatian side has three aussie born players in its side. We have much insider knowledge as do they on us. It shall be a very entertaining match!
Croatia is already calling the match Croatia 1 vs Croatia 2!

No, I wasn saying that Brazil would definitely get there and probably win.
However, England will almost definitely get to the semis at least.

Very confident Mr Ed? I do hope your right. Might seem strange coming from a Welshman, but I would like to see it coming home to Britian. It would give us a better chance of hosting the World Cup ourselves, which would be good for the British Isles as a whole. thumbsup.gif

(Starts shaking and sweating at the thought of all the press coverage they will get, 10 to 20 pages of the England team in every paper for months)

Out of Australia, Japan and Croatia, who is ranked higher?

Group F world rankings rankings.

Brazil: 1
Croatia: 15
Japan: 20
Australia: 49

Source: Sydney's Daily Telegraph (not sure where they got their stats from)

Betting to win the world cup

Japan: $201
Croatia: $67
Australia: $61
Brazil: $3.50

I wouldn't be so confident. In the leadup to the World Cup, Australia and Japan both have the Asian championship cup to play in, meaning a string of competitive games. Assuming there are no injuries, both teams should arrive at the world cup in peak physical condition and battle hardened for real competition.

Brazil and Croatia on the other hand only have a couple of friendlies to warm-up before hand. It does come down to injuries, but if the teams are fit, Brazil will be at a decided disadvantage.

AztecInca
^Indeed although I would be far more confident of beating Croatia who have said that Australia is nothing when they coudln`t even manage to defeat 123rd ranked Malta in a friendly. They only managed a draw.
Paranoid Android
^Though i would like to see the stats for the match. Did the Croatian stars play? Were they injured? Were they trying out new team combinations or blooding new players?

I don't know the details of taht match, but i read the article in the news that you're talking about, and in my experience, the media only ever tells half the story. Granted, I do not think Croatia are as powerful as they were 10 years ago, but there's a reason they are 15th in the world

Even if a few of the Brazillians had broken legs, they would probably top the group.
Paranoid Android
As the newspaper said, you could go to any beach in brazil, randomly choose 11 guys, and probably have a world competitive team.

Don't forget though, last time Brazil played AUstralia, they lost 1-0 (confederation Cup 3rd place play-off I think it was, could be mistaken though).

That game wasn't a friendly, it was a qualification match for this World Cup. Croatia and Malta were in the same qualification group as Sweden, and the Swedish newspapers named that match the "Miracle on Malta" 'cos it meant Sweden wasn't all that far behind Croatia.
thumbsup.gif
AztecInca
^Well that actually makes Croatia look worse and would give us a far greater boost in confidence when we have to play them.
I wasn`t sure what type of match it was but I though I had heard friendly mentioned, never mind though.

If you have been watching the Prem, then you would see Wigan are on fire, doing fantastic.

Plus everyone is on Uniteds and Fergies back but we still pulled it off and with the biggest win of the season.

Get in.

Wun, I have only 1 reply.

I have been watching it. Erm Wigan on fire? Not after their multiple serial loses.
Yes I know that is because they were playing good teams, but it was still an easy win for UTD. Any less than 3 nil considerng their history and they should have been dissapointed.

I think Smith has been very good as a holding midfilder type player. Just need more creativity in the centre, Scholes is good but they need someone like Ronaldinho to unlock the defences with pace.
Sofia Alexandra
Would that be JUVE as in Juventus? original.gif
Mr Ed
Smith is a good player, but he is an idiot.

Ah damn, the Mighty Doncaster United have been knocked out by Arsenal.
Pathetic they only won on penalties anyway.

Here are some Arsenal jokes for all those millions of Doncaster fans out there...

QUOTE
You're trapped in a room with a tiger, a rattlesnake, and an Arsenal Fan. You have a gun with two bullets. What should you do?

Shoot the Arsenal Fan. Twice

QUOTE
Did you hear about the Conservative MP who was found dead in an Arsenal strip?

The police had to dress him up in women's underwear in order to save his family from the embarassment.

What do you call an Arsenal fan in a suit ??

Mr Ed

Welsh Shaun
If you look at the league, this should be a good tie.

I wouldnt bet on either to win, to close to call.
Mr Ed
Boxing Day will be an excellent day for football.
Looks like Charlton will continue their glorious losing streak.
wrighty
Good win for Man United we stuffed them.

Scum Arsenal beat Charlton.

Wigan win again!!

Plus quite a few red cards including Bowyer, Murphy & Robert.

I just read in the paper that Henrik Larsson's returning to Sweden after this season. So far no one knows if he'll be playing for his motherclub Högaborg in the third division, Helsingborg in the Swedish premier Allsvenskan or if he'll quit altogether, but I hope he goes to Helsingborg. Then I might get a chance to finally see him play. tongue.gif
Mr Ed
Lol Man U drew with City, how shameful.

I watched Barcelona play Bilbao the other day, Eto'o spat in someone's face and Deco got sent off for punching someone in the ear. Entertaining.

Leeds game went to penaltys and they lost.

Did anyone here cath the Man U game, I mean they were favourites to win all the way through but still a nice win. 5-0.

Rossi, what a player.

ha ha ha sounness

bye bye

Mr Ed
I am not so sure about Souness, although he will probably go. If they sack him then they will have to pay out a fortune, which they can't really afford, and find someone else for the job in a very short time.
