No and I hope he doesn't Ferguson needs to learn he cant take good players off clubs by waving his cheque book anymore, Man Utd dont have the pull they once did, besides why would any midfielder go to Utd? It is a career ender look at Kleberson, 4 years ago World Cup finallist scorer, is he even there anymore?

I'm no chelsea fan but lets be fair to them, Cole, Lampard, Robben, Duff,. Cech, Terry etc were all Ranieri's ppl. Kezman, Drogba, Ferraria, Maniche were Roman's and look what happened to them, i belive they would have won the Premiership under Ranieri the next year anyway?

I would like to see the Arsenal win, but it will be tough now that Chelsea have got Andriy Shevchenko also in their team .

Yeah its a bit narrow minded, anyway USA were never close to being contenders anyway, a matter of time as they say

Jul 1 2006, 09:21 PM
No I think they had a decent team this year, USA could have done well.
But leave the world cup bits to the world cup thread. I think is Man United get requelme, carrick and maybe somemore (torres etc) we could challenge Chelsea this year.
jasibaby
Jul 2 2006, 07:05 PM
you may get carrick but you have no chance in getting requelme or torres requelme will cost around 25 million and torres will go to milan for around 35 mill you dont have that sort of money

Always a great time to be had and since he's now almost 14 ...time to welcome him to the fold....
Whats your Team and why ?
A lot of my dads family moved to Glasgow in the 50's and my uncle gave me a scarf he wore to the European Cup final in 67....since then i've been hooked.

Whats your thoughts on Wayne Rooney atm??
It annoys me when I hear people saying hes lost it and hes playing like an average player. Hes still very young we need to bare that in mind and we all have our rough patches. Once hes fit and has his confidence back, he will go back to his normal self.

Yep, the aussie supporters are back to discuss their own team (we really aren't as biased as we look, really

).
Friendly played in Queensland, Australia just now.
Australia - 1
Paraguay - 1
Australia went up in the 87th minute courtesy of a well-deserved goal from a set shot. Marco Bresciano chipped into the penalty box where Tony Popovic was on cue to deliver what seemed the winner in Popovic's final game for his country before retirement.
A 92nd minute equaliser came tragically (or joyously for Paraguayan supporters) through an Australian own-goal.
Oh well, at least it wasn't a loss. Australia's lost it's killer instinct since the World Cup, I think *shrugs*

Needs to find some form. I'd drop him for Wednsday just for entertainments sake, to make the English public sit through 2 games as boring as saturday within a week would just be cruel. Stick Defoe or Bent on against the Croats and we might see a bit of spark.
Of course once he finds his feet in the league again Rooney will be straight back in the 11 for the next game

Well 0-0 in the England match, what an incredibly boring performance, we are capable of doing so much better, I would have played Defoe from the start instead of Rooney, hes yet to get back to his normal self.

Judging by the look Defoe gave me I would've got a lot more than that (an arse kicking). On that note a guy on my course at Uni told me he was at a club and had a bit of a run in with Bradley Wright-Phillips. Apparently the blokes an utter twonk, tags along with his brother and all the England posse giving it large and trying to pick fights wth students.
Seems todays footballer really is as bad as the papers say

Is it just me or do you as a spectator get nervous most when the commentators start off saying
"they're playing a home game against vastly inferior opponents, they will win this match quite comfortably". It's those times when you really start looking for the upset

I think the problems England have are far deeper than just Rooney and the Manager, Rooney does at least work.. the team are Just crap and they have been left way behind when it comes to playing football, they are tactically crap and very few of them play as if they are proud to be wearing that shirt.

I'd love to see McClaren just stick two fingers up at all the lazy big name tossers in the next international break and leave a few of them out of the team to shake things up.
For instance:
Carson
Young - King - Dawson - Bridge
Lennon- Hargreaves - Gerrard - Cole
Bent - Johnson
Is a team that would easily be a match for a side like Israel or Estonia.
