"Byen er Bergen og laget er Brann,
stedet er stadion, komm an` alle mann!
Heia Brann, Brann, Brann, Brann, Braaann!
Heeeiiiaaa Braaaann!!!"

(Which means: The city is Bergen and the team is Brann (Fire),
the place is the stadium, come on everybody!
Go Brann, Brann, Brann, Brann, Braaann!
Gooo Braaaann!!!")

Oh yeah, and for those who still hasen`t ounderstood: I`m a fan of the Norwegian football team: Brann (Who is currently second in the Norwegian Tippeliga (The highest divison)

And ofc, I am also cheering on The Red Devils wink2.gif

"Super Feyenoord, you make us happy, hee hoo, voor Feyenoord!"

I am a BIG Feyenoord fan, easily my favorite team on Earth! And next season looks a lot brighter than the last one: our new acquisitions include Giovanni van Bronckhorst, Andwele Slory (up and coming Dutch player, winger/forward), Roy Makaay, Kevin Hofland and Tim de Cler! Other teams I support to an extent...Arsenal, Bolton, Benfica, Celtic and Fenerbahce.

Oh and I suppose I didn't mention my favorite player of all time: the one and only free-kick king Pierre "Pi-Air" van Hooijdonk! He just retired from professional soccer, but he will always be remembered as a proven goal scorer and an amazing free-kick taker...a clinical finisher, lethal in the air too. Plus he sports a unique personality tongue.gif For what it's worth, Feyenoord fans recorded a tribute song for van Hooijdonk after their 2002 UEFA cup victory, called "Put Your Hands Up for Pi-Air", which managed to reach the Dutch charts!

Btw I noticed Armegon supports Fenerbahce too...what do you think of Pierre van Hooijdonk? original.gif

Edit: Had to edit a BAD spelling mistake! wink2.gif

Hi Clocker

He is a legend in İstanbul. Fans love him so much like me. We call him “Aziz Pierre” means “Saint Pierre” wink2.gif . Every year he came to Saraçoğlu to meet fans, watch the match of Fenerbahçe and attend to some organizations in İstanbul. He was also at the stadium on last match of Fenerbahçe this year to celebrate championship. I think he is a great leader for his team and a free-kick specialist as you mentioned. And i know the song Feyenord fans recorded, it was also shown as a clip on FB TV while Pierre was playing for Fenerbahçe original.gif. I hope one day he will be a head coach to Fenerbahçe thumbsup.gif...

Great to meet another fan of Pi-Air, or Aziz Pierre grin2.gif Yeah I've understood he's very highly regarded by Fenerbahce fans, and I'm glad he is original.gif I'd like to see him coaching Fenerbahce some day too! Perhaps he should have stayed there for the rest of his career as Erwin Koeman was taking Feyenoord WAY downhill when Pierre returned...resulting in one of the most disastrous seasons in club history this year sad.gif Pierre was in tears in one match because one of his favorite teams was such a wreck at that point...what a terrible way to end a glorious career sad.gif But, he did score a free-kick in his last match for Feyenoord thumbsup.gif

Hi clocker

Yes, i heard that Feyenord had a bad season, they finished 7th if im not wrong and also expelled from Uefa cup but i hope this season will be better, they transferred Makaay,De Cler(??) and van Bronckhorst returned. Feyenord also loaned Nuri Şahin from Dortmund, young-talented Turkish player however i think he is weak and wont be efficient for Feyenord(hope i err and he will play there well). And for the Pierre, he had also some problems with head-coach Cristoph Daum here, i think same happened between Erwin Koeman and Pierre.

Greetings…

Yeah, Pierre has always had a strong personality original.gif But, it makes him all the better! Yeah Feyenoord indeed looks better now than it has in a while...well, it was pretty good a bit more than a year ago with Kuyt, Pierre, Castelen, Kalou and them. How's Fenerbahce these days? Who are the best players there now? Is Alex still there? Alex is really good! Well, I just noticed you've also got Kezman, who at least used to be ace, and Roberto Carlos too! Nice going thumbsup.gif

Hi Clocker

This season Fenerbahçe’s squad changed a little. We are always assertive in Turkish league as Fenerbahçe is the biggest club of Türkiye but im not sure well be succesfull in European cups because in Türkiye there are restrictions on the transfer of foreign players, teams can only transfer 6 foreign players thats why the quality Turkish players’ transfer-cost is too high. Shortly we do not compete at the same condition with our opponents in European cups because of our bad Football Federation. And yeah the Alex is our best player, hell be with us 2 more year. Although he plays in midfield, each season he becomes best scorer and assister. Also we lost Tuncay Şanlı this year, he transferred to Middlesborough. This is the biggest loss of Fenerbahçe. Our best players are Alex, Appiah, Kezman(last season he was not efficient but scored critical goals), Tümer Metin, Mehmet Aurelio…I think Fenerbahçe also need a center-forward who is good at heading to open closed-defences, in Türkiye every team plays defensive against Fenerbahçe. And yes Roberto Carlos is a big transfer for Fenerbahçe as we need a good left-defender. I hope hell play well here…

You guys lost Tuncay? Man he's GOOD! Too bad you lost him. And I had forgotten about Appiah, he's really good. Deciding from the list of players, I'd say you have a pretty good chance of winning the title. I know of the horrible restriction on the number of foreign players contracted to a club...that just sucks.

Liverpool for me, great team, main problem is we're not consistent enough, thats why we do better in competitions like the champions league, we've only won it FIVE times, won it five times, Rafa changes things too much (rotation)

Edit to add, we drew last night to ****ing Wigan, Rafa played a 4-5-1 at home against a side that will be in the race to avoid relegation, how the hell he can play such a defensive formation at home beggars belief, i have never liked Rafa, but when ive said this in the past on the footie forum people give you stick, but i've always had a funny feeling that Rafa and our star player Stevie G dont get along too well,

Rafa should play is strongest 11 every game, and if possible make 3 subs every game, but this rotation is a load of plop,

wunarmdscissor
but steve 4-5-1 against a team like wigan at home should actually be 4-3-3 when attacking its inly 4-5-1 when defending

as long as he plays the correct players for that system

celtic is my team and everton my english team

sorry steve lol

Aww how old are your sons? Are they interested in football yet? grin2.gif cool.gif Just being nosey!! My brother is trying to teach his son Liam how to play but he only just turned 1 in January and I think he'd be more suited to being a stunt man, he has no fears at all. laugh.gif

Soccer's taken off in a BIG way here Downunder last 10 yrs. My older son Joseph is 11 going on 12, he's currently play'n for a local soccer club. I plan to put him thru a specialized soccer academy if he proves himself and or good enough(?) Then kinda take it from there. My other son Stephen 7 going on 8, I can see he's more into 'contact sport' (both of em actually) Aussie Rules Football, both like soccer none the less. grin2.gif

I'll let em make up their own minds which way & or how far they want to go, they'll make me proud no matter what... thumbsup.gif

That's a lovely attitude to have about being so proud of your children no matter what. I'm expecting my first child early May and I want my child to try hard at school and I'll give all the encouragement I can especially if there's some special interest but ultimately I just want my child/children to be happy and have fun along the way. cool.gif

Thanks for the link to the Aussie Rules Football, that looks really tough and yet lads love it. I used to watch the Aussie Rugby and I don't know what they feed the players on but you rarely see one under 6' tall grin2.gif They always seemed to beat Great Britain and yet the games were brilliant to watch. We used to get the shirts over here too and I can't remember the names of the teams but I think Wests had one of the best ones laugh.gif Since Sky TV took over they seem to have all the good sport on there but I think those channels cost quite a bit per month and I doubt my husband would get out of the chair if we had all those sports so I need to put my foot down there yes.gif

No matter what your sons decide to do with their future I'm sure they thank their lucky stars that they have such an understanding father and love the fact you are so proud of them. thumbsup.gif

Thanks for your good wishes Rebel and your saying is oh so true, I have two nieces and a nephew all under the age of 4 and they just bring such pleasure to all our lives and you can learn so much from them too. They are all so different but very lovable at the same time.

Lauren is the eldest and is at Pre-school which starts here when the child is 3, I think it's a bit too early personally but it's so funny the impression they give that school is so much harder than what adults do for a living because all they see are teachers who are just giving out the work and they just sit back and say who has done well, the children do all the hard work. She has a little sister Jenna who really looks up to her although she does wind her up at times by hiding her toys but Lauren was asked what she thought of having another little brother or sister and she gave a huge sigh and said 'Don't you think I've got enough to do?' I don't know if she thinks she'd be responsible for bringing the child up but it really tickled me. grin2.gif

I think if money were no object I would have about 10 but we'd have to be lottery winners to even afford a house big enough never mind the rest of what they'd need.

Thanks mate.
