Its strange that you can do well and stiil get fired these days,I think its a shame.
He was a great manager and there was no need to fire him.
I know that when I go to see my mate at the weekend that we will be talking a lot about it as he is a big Chelsea fan.

It may have been the worst kept secret in footie, but it is still a sickener. To do that well, and still find yourself out of a job.
Despite his best efforts to put it out of his mind, Ranieri had to live with that, while Chelsea were competing in the Champions League semis. You do wonder whether that could have caused him to make the wrong decisions.

It's war!Biggest needle match of the opening rounds? France v England? Germany v Holland? Portugal v Spain?
Nope, it's the Swedes and the Danes.
The Swedish are pissed off, because the Danes have issued a commemorative set of Euro 2004 Coca-Cola cans, which wrongly claim Bulgaria beat Sweden to the bronze medal in 1994, when in reality, the Swedes won easily, thumping Bulgaria 4-0.
The Swedes are not happy bunnies, and are taking it personally.
The two teams meet on 22nd June, during Euro 2004.

You're right Cuffy, can't have helped!!
It makes no sense to basically scuttle our own chances by messing with the manager's head like that.
Mr. Ranieri behaved with grace and dignity throughout the whole drawn out mess and deserves a club that will appreciate him as much as the Chelsea fans did.

Three things to remember Kismit about us on the footie thread
1)We all love football,it is a beautiful game

2)The papers got it wrong about us being thugs,we are not all like that and so far I havn't come across any.

Well, I for one have been impressed by his aggresive arrival; he has pretty much declared war on the rest of the Premiership, if the papers are to be belived this morning.
He certainly is cut from a different cloth to Mr. C.W.
I loved the fact that Ranieri always praised the opposition, never criticised the refs and was always humble.
Our new man seems far more arrogant, but maybe we need that; when you look at the likes of Wenger and Fergie, they are very different from Ranieri, so maybe that's what we need?
All I say is that he better win something this season or he maybe back on the market sooner than he thinks.

I saw the press conference he gave yesturday and he seems very confident that Chelsea will do well.He also said he isn't like other managers and that he is in it for the game(not that money sways any footballer or manager

)
I think it does team moral some good if the team doesn't change too much and they dont change the manager every five minutes.
Im not sure if that was arrogance or confidence we were meant to hear Stamford but I have to agree with you,he did sound arrogant. But on that sort of pay rise, who wouldn't be?
